JOB OFFER OF 15000 QAR
By madeeha2003 •
Hi guys i need your advice and feedback. I have a job offer of 15000 QAR all inclusive. Medical would be provided by the company. I have a wife and 2 children accompanying me. Would that be enough for a comfortable living in Doha and i would like to save atleast 3-4000 QAR. Will appreciate your advice
Thanks
Before coming to Doha one of expensive city of the world and leaving the secured job in home country, one must think twice and set a limit for "THE BEST". Many company here provide a very tight salary keeping in mind the living expenses + considerate saving for a major commodity who lives in decent MIG fashion in home country. They can never increase it drastically. If someone hails from HIG definately a figure from QR30K-QR70K pm should be on offer.
I am being offered a job in qatar. Pay might be around 15000 QR with accomodation. Currently i am earning half this money in my country without the benefits of accomodation.
Is this a decent offer? I am married and my wife might take up a job there but its not confirmed yet. We do not have any kids as of now. But we might be planning to have one soon. I would also like to know how much do we need to pay to thehousemaids in qatar?
I agree even Indians deserve the best but then it would be a trade off between sending my 2 kids to American School and getting a house and food:)...the job is in the Audit department of a company and my qualification is of a CA.
I think it makes sense to ask them for 15+ accomodation.
for me if you have normal life, eat, sleep, work it will be fine, you can save up to 7k to 8k trust me, you just need to budget your expenses, but as other said it will be better to ask 18k to 20k but asking this amount it depends on your job position
Take up the job! you can live a decent life!
If you can demand for more... that's bonus!
No pragmatism !!! How can he !!! comeon, wakeup , he is indian, and there are less expensive indian school like MES...
Yes i guess 15000 QAR is on the lower side as i have heard that Qatar is the most expensive among the GCC countries. Also how expensive would be utilities like gas, electricity and telephone. Any other expense to consider or budget.
Any tips about the housing as that would be a major cost and also the schooling for the kids. My wife is also professional chef, would it be possible for her to work there.
is right, try to save 5 K.
15K is not enough for a family
Compare with your previous job. However Doha is costly than other GCC. But if you live verrrrrrrry normal life then may be u can save 3-4K.
ask for atleast 20k..the offer is good for single status here in qatar.
you can easily save 5,000 QAR if you live a normal life and not very luxurious one.
I think it is a bit low. All depends on what kind of lifestyle you enjoy now. You will spend about 6.5 k on 2 bdr apt and at least 6-7 k on food. and then on hydro, entertainment, car, etc.. so no.. it is quite low.. unless you are planning to live very cheap.. and no you wont save much.
I think below breakup of major expenses might help , suitable for MIG (medium income group) family:
House 2BHK Fully furnished: QR6000
Unfurnished : QR 5000
House 1BHK Fully furnished: QR5000
Unfurnished : QR 4000
House are cheaper in Wakrah Qr 2000-4000 pm
car sedan rental average Qr1500pm
Fuel : QR 300pm (including long drive / outing)
School per child CBSE ( e.g. max Qr1000 pm)
Ration : Qr 2000pm (lavish), potential to save
ALso air ticket, visa, medical for family ( if company pays you single).Devide by 12.
Lucky if you get some of these in lower rates..
You may save QR 2-3k indeed.

If you work in an environment you are wanted no matter how much you collect your welfare is taken care of.....and if there is no other option the one you have @ hand is better than you procrastinating for something you dont have in hand......
It’s all depend on your lifestyle,
If you live very conservatively and kids are not school age then there is possibility you could save your desired amount.
