i was wondering what is standard to have in a maids room .... bed ...wardrobe .... do they need a tv and or internet??? what type of things do you give your maids???
and what typical hours do they work for and how many days a week?
i decided for now im going to keep it more as a part time maid .... not a live in ...someone that comes in and helps me a few times a week will do for now ....once the baby is born then i will review it all ... but at least it gives me a little more time to get used to the idea....
In the Uk we had aupairs and they became family friends .... im finding it a little difficult to accept maid with maid outfit as i see them all ... im not used to it i guess... but its pretty normal here....it also seems quite expensive to me to have to pay 8000 reals to get someone to come work for you .... as an initial fee... im not comfortable with this lol lol i guess its visas etc for being outside europe i suppose....
We provided our maid a prepaid basic mobile (we add money to it monthly, and she has the option to add more of her own), a television, and fridge. The fridge is because we have learned that cultural differences in food lead to what we consider odd odors in our fridge. We like privacy in the evenings, and she is MUCH more likely to stay in her room and be content with a television. We did not provide a computer, but she has access to our family computer so that she can use Skype and email during her own time. I would advise against providing a computer with internet access in her room.
give your maid a nokia 1200 only, enough for sms and calls... that's all she need 'coz you're providing already tv for simple entertainment... INTERNET = HEADACHE
now seriously am i supposed to get a tv in the room or internet ?? i dont think i will provide them access to internet as i dont want them to get to distracted ... had an aupair that took the piss before so .... if there is a tv it will be a small one ... but again im not too keen for now on that one either .... to start with

Aupairs are slightly different to a maid.......

She has every right that you have, too. At last, she is human and neither a slave, nor your child, nor an animal.
perfect suggestions :)
internet access& computer is not necessary in maids room... so provide watever , which never distracts her duty... as robertgo said...
Oh, and 40 hours, 5 days a week.
