You are right Saud.

The congestion doesn't typically occur on the road itself, but at the junctions where the roads meet.

Replacing some roundabouts with traffic lights has helped, but more inventive responses are going to be needed to address problems on roads like D-ring at Al Waab and Landmark.

The only way to ease the traffic is to make more and more flyovers and underpasses rather than making signals or widening roads... As widening roads will at some point become bottle necked to cause traffic.

flyovers or direct exits joining different roads is the best option.. hope its valid point.

Allow only the owners of private cars to drive them.

Ban the use of personal drivers (especially Indians). - as most of them couldn't drive a nail into a wall. Those that try to drive emulate their bosses and drive like mad men in a car that is much too powerful for them, whilst swanning about the neighbourhood when their bosses are at work.

Option A and B Improve public transport system and road networks........Changing office and school starting hrs a good idea as mentioned by Sadik..........................................township community accomomodation with utility and shopping inside..... develop vacant areas outside Doha let people spread out than sticking to the centre....!@# ................Just wondering how the town planning authority lack master brains to foresee and formulate proper development!

Implement a Number Coding System

1. Every Saturday Monday Wednesday - all plate number ending to Odd nos. ( 1,3,5,7,9) are only allowed on the roads

2. Every Sunday Tuesday Thursday - all plate number ending with even Nos. (2,4,6,8,9,0) are only allowed on the roads...

hope this would help

A Good Town Planning Initiative is the only reliable solution

1. There should be designated areas for Business purposes as well as Residential purposes

2. Buildings in the Residential areas should have buildings no more than 3 floors and should provide ample basement parking for all staying in that particular building - this regulation will help in extending the city limits due to extensive demands. Buildings should not be given permit if this is not followed. The earlier an initiative like this is implemented the better results.

3. There should be a specified minimum space between building which should be filled with plants that are proven to detoxify the air. If this is followed strictly positive changes in the weather will be seen beyond imagination.

4. After thorough inspection old buildings that are beyond 3 floors should be demolished. This will ensure the safety aspects of buildings. Most of the buildings pose a reliable threat to safety. The cement bonding of older buildings are very poor due to environmental conditions and the construction methods that were previously employed. This is obvious as we all see the wall and Roof plasters falling apart and exposing the steel inside. This will pave way for better constructed buildings as per regulations

5. Buildings of Public Importance should be located at places where there is a good traffic flow and also should provide ample parking.

6. More parks should be constructed amidst the city. The roads should broaden to 4 or more lanes

7. Hospitals should be more and strategically located

These measures will reduce the density and hence the traffic blocks can be drastically reduced

1. Set school time from 6:30 AM and office time from 8 AM

2. Companies should provide transportation for their staffs. This can remove lot of vehicles from thr road.

3. School buses for all students (including Qataris)

4. Fine motorists who block the roads for small accidents

5. Implement efficient traffic signalling system

6. Implement car pooling system for the persons who are working and living in same place. This can be done easily throgh QL but autherities should approve.

Parallel to main road everywhere there are lots of sub roads (lane roads) so identify some lane roads and make connection if necessary and direct it to Doha and make it one way road, sometimes it will be little far than main road even though no need to waste the time on signals.
