Dont you think it can only be possible with the help of QTEL? e.g if you send me an SMS and your number is not saved in my contacts list, your number will be displayed rather than your name...here its the other way around.
I think its the QTEL that sells our numbers for business purpose. They might be charging the companies. Its just like recieving spam mails due to selling the contacts by mail servers like hotmail, yahoo or gmail etc.
