Rental costs in 2007

Hello everyone,

I am interviewing for a position in Qatar, and would like some info about housing costs.

I know that rent inflation has been nuts over the last few years, and I have read quite a few prediction about what would happen after the Asia Games.

Can anyone tell me what is happening these days?  Are rents going down?  What about other prices?

Thanks in advance for your help.

you can forget about the rents coming down....the rent is increasing day by day...monthly rent is as high as the monthly salary...

"As for me I have set a time table of 5 yrs. By that time the Rent will be equal to my salary, that is the time I m going to Kiss Qatar goodbye."

will you really wait till then?

They are planning a new BIGGER Airport - Does that mean that the rent is going to come down.

I could have understood had the govt organised a massive construction activity to lease out property to expats & companies (would have been as profitable as Oil,Gas & Q-Tel, if not more - lol).

Its going to increase at 25% per year minimum like it or not buddy.....Sorry for breaking your heart.

Items 1 and 2 are conservative, if you're talking fully furnished. I'd estimate:

1- 2 bedroom from 8000-10000

2- 3 bedroom from 10000-12000

1- 2 bedroom from 4000 - 6000

2- 3 bedroom 6000-8000

3- Villa 10000-25000

4 Shared flat- 1500-2500

5- shared villa 4000-5000

6- studio 5000-6000

Ok now these are the prices, if you need to know the rate is 3.65 ==> 6000/3.65 = 1643 US DOLLARS
