REPORTING LABOUR LAW-BREAKING

Hello,

could you tell me if there is any organization / department where I could report breaking the labour law by a company? The case doesn't concern me, it's one of the companies providing services in my compound. Employees work there 14 hours per day with only 2 days off per month (Fridays paid as a normal day of work) for about 700 QAR...

Is there any possibility of controlling this? Will an official complaint give any result? Or maybe its better not to risk if it can finish by them losing their jobs?

I will appreciate your advices as I am totally confused. I would like to help them but I don't know how, what is more, I am scared it will only get those poor men into trouble.

Dear, I appreciate your concern, but seek the help of your embassy officials first, it should be a secret inspection, let them see then they will take up the matter with all concerned govt. officials. This I feel is proper channel to do.

You are safe, your other poor guys are safe.

file a complaint in the labor department, they have an inspection section which makes sure that laws are followed, however, it will not be a guarantee that action will be taken.

Hai

We r living in qatar, not US or any other developed

countries. No body knows exactly about the Qatar Labour Laws. In my experience Labour Department only acceptthe Labour's dispute, in case the concerned Labour make complaint against their company.

U may advise them to go labour dept.
