correction.

Living expenses are high 'compared' to India. (that's the correct sentence).

Although as mentioned, the most expensive thing to worry about is accommodation. (when it comes to living in the city).

Live outside and the price drops.

Living is expensive but my company is cheap.

They cut my pay when I came down here, saying that as there is no tax they will pay me what I used to earn after tax, cheap ba........

They are however paying my accomodation although I've yet to see what they are offering.

well for one I wouldn't 'demand' anything :P

I'd get the boot.

You just focus on making sure you get a bit more than you usually do and make sure that you end up with more in your pocket after accommodation.

word demand is a bit strong. I doubt if you will be able to "demand" anything. Nobody in Qatar is indespensible. Negotiate..... maybe

Well that depends on how much your company can offer you. But presently to survive in doha if you are single you need to have a monthly pay of atleast 10,000 QRS.. which includes your accomodation and living expenses..

But if you are a family man, and would like to bring your family to doha you need to demand houseing from the company and a monthly pay of min 12 to 15K.

All this can be considered depending on the position, your company's reputation, and your qualifications.

I wish you all the best.. but do not calculate your offer in INR, since so managers here are smart enough to take you for a ride when they say we will pay a salary equivalent to INR 30 to 60K - Rupees..

Life in Doha is expensive, cost of living is crazy.. so think before you decide..

Best Regards

is it a senior post or junior post?

whatever they are offering make sure you ask for family status+ accomodation + ticket for family every year.

Make sure they are not verbal promises but all written down properly and signed
