Hi
I am a doctor,Ortho Surgeon, from India. I have been offered a job in some clinic in idustrial area in Doha offering me 17000 QR per month. No accomodation is being offered. I am married with two kids 8yr & 10yr, My wife is a dental surgeon My question is
Is this much salary sufficient for a good quality of life considering so high rents and inflation
How far is industrial area from city. Will it be possible to commute twice a day
Any other sugeestion especially from expat Doctor community

Dude, You should earn way more than that. Insist on transport, housing and schooling . Schools and housing here are very expensive, qr17k will not do.

Hope this helps.

You must be joking !! This is a really bad offer.

Have a look at this thread to give you some idea about cost of living in Doha..

QAR17,000 for a position like yours without housing is not much, considering the fact that one villa here would cost you around QAR13,000 or more if you transfer to DOha with your family, or a flat at QAR6500.00 per month. Plus you need to eat, transport yourself from home to work, plus other basic needs of your family. Suggest that you demand for a little bit more if you can.

Industrial Area is at least 15-20 minute drive to Doha, depending upon the traffic.

Goodluck.
