My wife and I would like to learn Arabic. Is there any institution where they teach you spoken Arabic? It will be ideal if the institute doesn't charge anything or if the fees are subsidised.
I learnt Arabic reading & writing free of charge. Many thanks to FANAR - Qatar Islamic Cultural Center @ Corniche, Besides Standard Chartered Bank. for more details visit www.qfanar.com
Qatar Guest Centre - 4683681. For absolute beginners - 2 programmes - 1) Reading and writing and 2) Conversation. Not free unlike Fanar but not much. Only QR200 per programme or if you take them both together, as at February this year, it's QR300. There are other advanced levels too.
The teachers are volunteers, so it would be good if students are easy going. I say this because I've overheard some demanding enquirers. They do try their best and IMHO, the ladies section is very good - not perfect, but very good. I like their programme, very well structured for beginners to learn slowly but surely.
Qatar's winter months are brimming with unmissable experiences, from the AFC Asian Cup 2023 to the World Aquatics Championships Doha 2024 and a variety of outdoor adventures and cultural delights.
