Hi everyone,

As we all know it's valentines day today....

And Im hoping someone here can help me out: who knows where I can buy flowers... close to the airport or the Marriot....

Thanks ;)

I somehow agree about the idea but not about the Valentine's day...

I think in my opinion it is nice to celebrate your love once a year or maybe more but it would be better to be like anniversary such as your wedding day or the day when the couple met the first time or such kind of special days, this way it gives that day a special meaning and good memories...

We don't need Mr. Valentine to remind us with love ;)

I still like St Valentine's day. Is like "Qatar day" whenever that is. It doesn't mean that for the rest of the year you don't give a damn about your country, it is just nice to have a special day to celebrate your nationality. Dunno if that makes sense. Is nice to have a special day to celebrate your love.

Err... Too complicated.

If one doesn't celebrate Valentine then he\she has no sense of Romance ? And we feel sorry for his\her poor wife\husband?

Why to assume that those who celebrate Valentine live in perfect romantic life and the others just don't speak love?

Maybe It's important for some people, but it's NOT for the others.Let's just agree to disagree..Qatarliving!!

Different cultures different views..It's that simple.

I think some might have a high sense of Romance that they do NOT see that the valentine celebration thing is giving love its true value.

So many things go wrong by the name of that celebration. So many hearts get broken, so many budgets get ruined and yet so many unsatisfied wives\husbands with their love gifts.

What a thing!

It's ok. I'm happy you quoted me. Would be happier if you understood me.

You can still buy something made in ME or China or wherever you'er from, and you won't be contributing to American's economy

Somehow I feel like I'm the author of your words...

"a modern creation of American’s consumer society, and whilst it has been widely exploited for marketing ..."

Sounds familiar.
