Where do I pay a traffic (speeding ticket) fine?

Where do I pay a speeding ticket fine? The www.moi.gov.qa website says that I got my picture taken last month. I've heard that "most people don't pay fines until they come to sell the car", I've also heard that the fine gets increased by 10% for every month it isn't paid. I'd rather pay now.

Thanks!

Al Istiqal is the street from the Grand Hyatt to the Fire station Roundabout on Mohammed Bin Thani Street.

Al Dafna is the West Bay Area. Al Qassar seems to be a small part of it. The real givaway is Al Istiqlal. This is the dual carriageway that runs from The Grand Hyatt down to the fire Station roundabout on Mohammed Bin Thani Street.

I got caught speeding on this street & was fined QR500 for 'loading a vehicle in a way that causes danger to people & properties'. I presume that it is 80kph on this road, although I can't see any signs to confirm. Never mind I hope that you learn from my mistake.

is still open and yes they do accept payment for fines [If you have an accident and you go to any traffic department, they will ask you to pay before getting the papers any violation you had].

Regarding the Window's tint ... I'm not sure, but you still can ask them ... I believe you have to go to the main branch in Khalifa ...

I really feel sorry for both of you as you have crossed red light and hence, faced a penalty of QAR.6000/-.

.

Guys, I know it’s very difficult for anybody to pay such large amount as a FINE but dear we drivers must be attentive & abide by traffic rules while driving especially crossing signals or intersection.

.

Now you’re asking to get this fine WAIVED off but let me ask you what if you have created a serious accident or killed a pedestrian by crossing RED LIGHT. You would have been in more difficulty by paying more than Qar.100k and facing jail & deportation too.

go to SOUQ WAQIF, ABU HAMOUR STATION, AIRPORT or MADINAT KHALIFA [Last option]

.

Souq Waqif is the best as almost no customer is there especially at evening. Be there before 7 pm

"Loading a vehicle in a way that causes danger to people or properties" is the fne for over loading a car or stopping at an inapropriate place to pick up passengers ie: the round about.

You get 14 points they suspend for 3 months or so...

The guy that bought my Jeep had one fine for speeding 300QR

But Ithink it was 3 point for the offense...

Could get to 14 pretty fast...

is al waab st, i think.  it's the road going from centrepoint to villagio...i noticed a hidden camera there the other day.  it's in amongst the roadworks before the bridge.  There are also the other cameras at the lights...hope that helps.

just remember, AL QASSAR / AL DAFNA Al Istiqlal is apparently down by city centre somewhere.

i've just checked online and i've got a fine for 'loading a vehicle in a way that causes danger to people and properties' for QR 500.  What on earth does that mean????  i ride a motorbike so have no idea how i can load it dangerously...apart from eating too many crispy creme donuts :)

why do they make it so hard to pay for the ticket? I went to City Center Kiosk today. You can't pay there anymore, they said to go to Madinat Khalifa office. I tried to pay online (took google to find out how--it's not on the moi.gov.qa website) but that system does not work anymore. It's times like these I hate this country.

I too had one near AL SOUDAN-AL AZIZIYA-AL MURRA Al Bustan for 300 Q.R, I don't remember having gone over the radar limits. I asked the traffic policeman but what he said made no sense to me. Maybe you can go to the traffic dept at Madinat Kahlifa and ask for the pics if the have one. I am not sure if you will have to pay QR 10 per pic view.Anyway keep an eye on the speed limits as 4 roads from one roundabout will have 4 different speed limits despite being in the same desert!

With all my expenses piling up (preparing for Eid trip, paying housemaid agency, letting my wife loose in Home Centre in City Centre), I really need a discount.

I got the 3 following violations from the MOI website (http://www.moi.gov.qa/English/index.htm). I can't make head or tails of the locations. Where are these three places where I go nailed?

Violations

1) 2007-07-06 2:31PM NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE MAXIMUM SPEED LEVEL

AL SOUDAN-AL AZIZIYA-AL MURRA Al Bustan 300 Q.R

2) 2007-07-09 1:58PM NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE MAXIMUM SPEED LEVEL

KHULAIFAT /MAAMOURA/ MESAIMEER Salwa Road 300 Q.R

3) 2007-09-04 1:45PM NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE MAXIMUM SPEED LEVEL

AL QASSAR / AL DAFNA Al Istiqlal 400 Q.R

Where's the place to pay fines in City Centre? When is it open?

I've racked up QR1000 in the past few months (QR300, 300, 400) for speeding.

my husband clocked in 2 speeding fines. QR 400 each. It was beginning of the year, we went away end of march till last week, we leave the country no problem and arrived no problem. No one mention about traffic fines.

You normally pay the fine when you register the car. The officer who do your registration will tell you how much you need to pay. If you dont pay they will not re-register the car.

Hope this help

No you won't be prevented from travelling for a traffic violation.

I emailed e-gov a couple of weeks ago and asked them the same question.

I'm still waiting to hear from them.

Is it true that if you turn up at the airport to go on holiday, and you have unpaid traffic fines, they don't let you leave the country till they're paid?

How does one appeal a traffic violation? I have just discovered I got a 200QR fine for parking outside the airport waiting for my husband - but the traffic cop there saw me and said it was ok to stay for a few minutes! He didn't tell me he was going to fine me!

And is the online payment service at www.e.gov.qa ever going to come back?!

By binodc• 15 Apr 2007 15:00

U can pay the fine online at http://www.e.gov.qa/eGovPortal/index.jsp

There is no fine increase every month.

Taking it from this side is ok, never been there for a long time. The first and only last time was from inside the old airport street. That is why it was kind of tricky. :)

By King Edshel• 14 Apr 2007 21:35

I've been there only once, but I can't remember the place. It is kind of tricky and not that easy to be found. I tried to post earlier but I was disconnected and it seems that my post is not here. Man you can pay at any time but before renewing your car registration. When you go for that they will ask you to clear all the violations that you got. First time I hear about the 10% thing, might be a new thing but never hear of it.

The guys are right as well as the Airport one is less crowded than the Khalifa branch. You can also pay for that in 'Giant Stores' or 'Villagio' as I remember. I saw an office there for the Traffic Department. There is also in 'Hammad Hospital' down there near the Parking area down there. It is empty all the time.

Good Luck

Coming along Airport Road heading to Wakra turn right at the traffic lights that used to be Parachute Roundabout. About half a kilo up the road on your right.

if you pay by credit card, you can earn air-miles when you pay your fine off. Everyone's a winner!

Go to Traffic police near the airport. It is convenient and faster than Madina Khalifa. Been to both places and know the difference.

You used to be able to pay it online at the e-Government site but that's been under maintenance for a long time now. Go to the traffic department either at Madinat Khalifa or Airport to pay.

You need to renew your car's road permit once a year. That's when uou have to do a traffic violations check before they renew the permit.

Fines don't increase. You just have to pay it when your road permit is up or if you're involved in a car accident; they check for violations then.
