Well i had been in Dubai for last 6 years and have the seen the inflation in not only in real estate but in the commodities as well. I have moved to Qatar, where i heard that there was inflation but only in real estate sector.
What's your say???????

If life equals being a "PIMP" , I prefer death or what Mr. Teenager called " A LOSER"

It is easy for you to go to your home country and enjoy being a "PIMP" all the time

It is not so hard to do !!!!!

its cheaper to live here in qatar.. prices of commodities are not that high.. and yes its true that here in qatar there is less to do or to go to.. unlike in dubai you need more money to spend and the lifestyle is kinda different.. :-)

Comparing Dubai with Doha would be like comparing a metropolitan city and its suburb. Been in Abu Dhabi for 2 years and almost every weekend was spent in Dubai. Cant even remotely compare the life there and here. I miss those days. Never was bothered about spending those extra dirhams which in return gave so much to life which after spending een more here can't get it.

You people are comparing apples and oranges...

What is there in Qatar that compares to Dubai? Other than the Climate and geography?

Buildings - Dubai has bigger and much dense buildings.

Island development - Dubai has the biggest in the World

Public Transportation - Dubai Again has one of the best in the world.

Disneyland - Dubailand is biggest in the world.

Malls - Dubai has the biggest in the world.

Sports & Leisure - Dubai has better facilities even an indoor ski facility.

Taxi Cabs - Dubai has 8,500 Doha has 1,500 (of which half are in workshop).

Tourism - Dubai is well established in the world as a Tourism Destination while People come to Qatar on Tourist visa to find work!

Festivals - Dubai Shopping Festival is world famous.

So where is the Comparison???. Dubai is competing with the World....Qatar is competing within GCC.

KSA is cheaper both in food as well as accomodation. Way cheaper however it does not matter as everywhere salaries are adjusted based on the cost of living. KSA has less COA so there are less take home salaries as compared to Qatar and Dubai.

... now am in Qatar. Can't beleive I complained about Abu Dhabi while I was there... Qatar is so far behind it hurts! But anyway, it's all about work and earning cash. We spend more on less in Qatar.

I was there even last week. I really like Dubai and guys (no bashing) this does not mean I will leave Qatar and get settled there. But end of the day I really like the way they build Dubai. Once I used Metro I was really impressed by emirates and believe me it is a real achievment. Burj Khalifa its really a cool cool thing to see too.

The saying goes "Grass is always green on other side of the valley...".

If you had stayed in Dubai, i bet your opinion will be changed..

There is absolutely no doubt about the flashy life in Dubai.. But that flashy life started only few years back..

May be after few years, some people living in Qatar who think are "PIMPS" will coincidently become the BALLER.....

(By the way u can pay your paycheck immediately here, just keep jumping the red signals..)

As per my experience of living in Dubai and Doha, though price of almost all the things required for living are similar in both the places, one ends up spending more in Dubai due to availability of so many places to spend. Where would we go in Doha except for the same few malls.

So only losers come to Doha?

You insult the intelligence of the winners here.

What a question. Obviously you are not aware of either.

Dubai is far more cheaper in all aspects and that is why they will be able to compete better for any entities that wish exposure in the gulf.

Qatar real estate prices still very high which will supress any real rapid growt

If you are a loser, Qatar might be cheaper.. u know nothing much to do.. perfect for a loser lifestyle or to save money

If you are a pimp/baller/seeking fun, dubai's got some temptation.. could make you spend your paycheck the same day you get it.

if you do not know what you are (loser vs baller), you are most probably a loser because ballers know they are ballers...

Dubai is cheaper in everything if you see per unit rates but you end up spending more in Dubai because of the way it is built.
