Hi All

I'm new to this forum, sp please be nice ;-)

I have been invited for an interview from uk. I have not visited the region before and would like to have advice please on the best things to try and get a feel for the place in a very small amount of time, maybe 24 hours or less!?!?

Already been researching on here and reading a book (Residents guide to Qatar) and from this it sounds like a place my wife, daughter and I could be very happy.

What are the general shop opening times?
Where would be a good area to live for any positions around the airport?
Is Westbay too far to travel through the traffic?
What schooling is well regarded for English or German curriculum?

I'm sure this is the first of many posts, any help and guidance appreciated.

Kind regards

Its really hard to say when shops close. There are malls with grocery stores that close around 11pm or midnight. They open at 7 or 8am. Most shops close on Fridays or have limited hours for Prayer. There are several villas around the airport area on between D-Ring & C-Ring. Be careful with the sound from overhead planes when living close to the airport. West Bay is not far at all from the airport. You'll be going against traffic during rush hours.

Good luck, and I hope you find the answers to your other questions.
