8000 qr
By comingsoon •
hello all,
i would like to apologise first because this questions has maybe been asked a million times
i have been offered a position with a qatar company and there lump sum package is 8000QR
my question is is this sufficient enough for qatar for a man with a wife and 2 children?
my children are 5 years old and 2 years old.
my wife has a business degree and speak arabic and english will she be abe to find a position once we are there?
are there any canadians on this site ? that currently live in qatar?
8000 QR = 2200 CDN appoximatly, even if both you and your wife are only making minimum wage in Canada, you would be bringing in more than 8000 QR. The cost of living here is going up by the day, the only thing not going up yet is gasoline and taxes.... my advice would be to stay in Canada.
Yes it is gud 4 Housing only. Now fullly furnished 2 BR flat is between 8.5k to 10K per month
its 8000qr not dollars see there...
8000 riyal or Dollars?
its way too less...what is the position? its an unrealistic figure
I'm a Canadian working in Qatar and that offer is a joke. Depending on the position in question and your qualifications/experience, you should be getting close to QAR 8,000 AFTER the company covers housing, transportation, medical, schooling subsidies for your kids, and family tickets back home once a year! You would be hard pressed to find a 2 bedroom appartement with that alone......my advice is do NOT take it.
Hope you get a better offer, or you're better off back home my friend.
Stay safe.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
You can barely survive on this amount of money and pay rent, with 2 children going to school (if you find a school) school fees you have to buy a car - plus -plus -plus it is hardly enough for one person to live lon et alone four. Don't accept, as this even if your wife works you will have a hard time to make ends meet.
i'm canadian and 8000 is nothing with today's FX rates and the cost of living here.
unless you get a real crappy place, 8000 probably will cover your rent and that's it.
if you want to send me a PM with the job details and what positions you are looking for, i'll give you some more specific guidance.

If your wife is looking for work, she may find something within Hamad Medical Corporation, English and Arabic languages are a huge plus
8K..not enough for a family with 2 kids... they should provide you accommodation, transporation, school allowances apart from the 8K..

i had the feeling i was being low balled by this company i mean i make more than that here in canada, and my wife works here as well, even if i were to come there without my family from what i can gather it would not be enough.
thats too bad i really want to come too i had been in qatar in 2003 for a visit and really enjoyed it there.
Nope buddy, not at all good enough for a family of 4, and without the family here, you might not consider this option...
ITs rather a low package in today's Qatar...have that checked again...
check out the classified section regarding accomodation and u would know what they r talking about!!!
good luck
your Qr.8000 is equal to nil.
because you will be payin that house rent.

sorry to be more clear housing as far as i know is my responsibility however when i last spoke to them i requested housing they said they may have to revise my monthly salary than
8000 including accomodation is worthless... the whole 8000 will go on 2 bedroom flat..
a family of 4 members and offered Qr8000.
no not sufficient not at all.
will they give you some thing extra than that
like housing , Medical, Transport
