Al Ahli Hospital..!!!
Hello,
I find this forum is very helpful, thank you all.
Does anyone of you know Al Ahli Hospital in Doha!!?
Have you ever worked there or do you know anybody does!!?
Any reviews or feedback about this hospital (In terms of work environment, management..etc) would be very helpful.
Thank you very much in advance
I had a very disappointing experience in Al Ahli hospital. This hospital is about visuals. It looks rather like a mall than a hospital. It has a fountain, some green plants, a coffeshop, an ATM and many cashiers. This is why it is generally considered to be the best hospital in Doha. However what makes a hospital reputable is not how luxurious it looks and how expensive you pay for treatments, but how well qualified and efficient the health professionals there are. The doctors and the nurses are hidden in a section with doors that can be open only from the inside. There are signs "Agressive behaviour to the staff is not tolerated". I wonder why these signages even exist if the staff is formed by good professionals to whom patients should be normally grateful...
I have consulted a pulmonologist, Dr. Hassan Al-Sawaf, following a recommendation. He tried to hear my breathing through my jacket and all the consultation was about ordering costly tests and finally prescribing common treatments without looking for further issues. So, I have finally decided to seek treatment and health care abroad anytime I need it.
for gyne departement Al Ahli hospital is worst. I personally faced horrible experience with them on march 2014. My wife was in serious condition..about to miscarriage. We wait 3 hours to visit doctor. After that doc says need to admit hospital. After 2 hours they said there is no room to admit. It is God that just help us out on this situation. Then I visited Doha hospital. From there doc says no need for medical admission, just be in home all will be fine.
Gyne doctors in Al Ahli is stupid. I visited two lady doctors (indian). I just don't want to mention there name right now. Can anybody tell me is there any medical governing body in Qatar where I can report on there poor management as well the Doctor knowledge.
I took my wife to Ahli hospital ER yesterday since she has a very high temperature & body pain. The ER was not crowded as usual and with no critical cases with other patients. The admission was very fast but the main problem was that we were waiting for 2 hours and we didn’t see any doctor to check her up.I asked the nurses many times about the delay and they were always claiming that there is one patient before us for 2 hours. Meanwhile i saw the doctors checking their mobiles and laughing in the ER area.I asked again the nurses since my wife was shivering and he told me that they need 30 mns. I brought the wheel chair, take her to the car and went to Doha Clinic where they took care of her.
i am receptionist AL Ahli hospital in Doha i am working there like a year,i have really good relationship with another receptionist sometime with dr. and nurses nice environment beautiful place other than that working there is like i am in hill tooo many hours working and extra only one day off, low salaries, non stop working, you dont have time to take break or pray or even drink water you are working non stop , patient yelling at you (delay for appointment , too much expensive for seeing Dr., not answering phone, waiting long time, working slow,..etc) sometime patient yelling at you for no reason even Dr. yell at you, supervisors giving too much work and stress only one receptionist dealing too many patient front cuz half of receptionist are Quit! and resign

save life, save salary
I don't know anybody that has been employed by this hospital - so can't comment on that.
My son was admitted to Al Ahli just before Christmas last year.
As soon as I walked into the emergency room he was looked after. He was pale, in pain and vomiting and a child.
A & E was busy but they looked at my son and knew he was ill. They took him in straight away.
Within 10 minutes he was given pain killers, diagnosed as being dehydrated (he had been vomiting for two hours), they started an IVI, gave him an MRI after 30 minutes and booked him in for surgery when they saw the results of the MRI and his white blood cell count .
He was suffering from a perforated appendix.
We got to A & E at 11.30 he was having surgery at 2.30pm. A million times better than the NHS in England – well at least where I live.
When he got out of surgery – the Nurses and Doctors were fantastic. He was in hospital for 5 days and he suffered at worst 10 minutes of pain in all that time.
We saw the Consultant and Registrar every day – the Nurses were lovely, kind and attentive and they allowed me to stay.
The Consultant was a Qatari, the Registrar was Indian – the Nurses were Indian and they were all bloody fantastic.
That is my experience – perhaps we were lucky – but I have been back since and had good care.
I never asked the Nurses if they liked working there – they seemed happy and were so good at their job and I was so ‘immersed’ in my role as a mother looking after my ill child – I never thought to ask.
Perhaps I should have done.
yes my brother and sister in law worked there for 4.5 months. had to leave because salaries are not paid regualrly and were made to work exxtra hours and on weekends without giving an extra pay. when demanded to get the payment dues after resigning, they simply cancelld the visa and also put a ban for reentry
