car insurance
I made an accident yesterday, from police report it was fault of the car that hit me. the damage is quite big and estimation for repair is 25000 QAR, as per the insurance company of the person that hit me i need to go to police and open a file case, once i got the file case i need to go tp my insurance company by then they will settle the payment. i would like to know if someone encounter like this can you please share your experience? do i need to wait for the final settlement between the two insurance company before they started to repair for your car or immediate i will get the approval once i got the file # from the police. and also can i claim for compensation since this accident really disturbing my time specially during working hours just to process all the papers that are needed?
its a new car, and it needs repalacement not just fixing or hummering.
i spoke with QIC they said why i need to open file case in police, it must be open by them ... confusing i dont know to know i should believe.
After filing the case,take the report and file# etc to the insurance companies and let them decide because it depends on them.Some times they my refer you to some Garrage or they can get repaired themselves.So its better to decide them.
