By constantine_ism... •
My group is launchung a supermarket chain with only Philipino foodstuff imported from phililpine itself! My request to fellow philipinos is to suggest me your convenieant location and your suggest for our group to start this business...
Update please? dapata talaga may supermarket tau dito, all pinoy dapat.. kc nakaka bad trip sa souq Pilipino store nga pero puro naman indian yung tindero ang nasa loob..
It is all supermarket groceries and it is gonna continnue the same.. People around made it like that!
I agree with dayo about the "supermarket" groceries here in Doha. :)
Forget Al Ghanim... Not a good location here.
When you say "supermarket" most of us Filipinos would think its huge and almost a one stop shop like the Carrefour here in Doha. When I first came here my roommate asked me to buy a kilo of lemon in a "supermarket" in front of our house but I haven't notice any big store 'til I saw the sign "Al Farath Supermarket" in a 3x3m shop along the corner.Enlighten us plz because Kabayan supermarket in Souq is like a Grocery to us back home.Najma is too crowded,is it going to be like the same small groceries found everywhere with Filipino name & items?
maybe i suggest near airport.
HI,
WE HAVE FOUND A SUITABLE SPACE IN NAJMA.. CAN I GO FORWARD PLEASE SUGGEST YOUR VALUABLE ADVICES>>
not narrow lanes, fresh stuff, good quality and price, customers will patronize you.

if it's gonna be like sm, henry sy likes to set up shop (the newer major malls at least) in areas that are originally not in the center of the city, but not too far though, because land is cheap and there is a lot of space. the rest of the population will just have to commute there, so much so that public transportation will just have to be made available because of the demand. think sm north edsa.
if it's in the city, you'll just have to set up a multi-storey parking facility ala-sm city carpark or at the ends of the mall building like the one in megamall, shangrila, & moa. if you're building it near city centre, i hope we can have elevated walkways like the ones in ayala, and more recently, cubao and the sm north/trinoma area to link multiple commercial, residential and business establishments and make everywhere accessible by foot.
hehehe! taas mangarap :)
at the very least, do try to look up on the design of the landmark trinoma supermarket. it's my favorite place to buy groceries in the philippines because i like the layout and the design of the place. i think it won design awards a couple of years back.
there is one more new option.. How bout najma... souq area is gonna demolish in short time..
We are finalized with four location n we are gonna select one of these
Mattar qadeem
Al sadd
Industrial Area
Bin Mahmoud
We tried our best in mansoura
I agree with rizks, put it on halul island.
MO RIN...YUN LANG!!!
The best place next to
QDC
INDUSTRIAL AREA is the best location
it's better near in Hamad Hospital...
anywhere near hamad hospital or along bin mahmoud
airport area.
The one and only consideration in trying to put up a business to capture a certain market is the accessibility for transportation, thereby giving the location aspect of the business so much importance. Secondary to this is the number of people traversing the location. Therefore, it is but wise to establish the business in SOUQ area only where Karwa Bus Terminal is also located. Filipinos all over Qatar particularly those far from Doha would love to have a one-stop shop in SOUQ market. Nakakapagod kasi ang palipat-lipat pag naka-bus ka lang kasi hindi naman lahat ng Pilipino sa Qatar ay mayroong sariling sasakyan. Pag sa ibang lugar pupuwesto, sasadyain pa.
HOW BOUT AL MUNTAZAH?
THis shop in mansoura is asking a ahuge rent 30,000 riyals.. toooo much!
shops are not available at mattar kadeem suitable for a supermarket since it is a good location! wot to do??
places (one has a finished commercial building right now, and the other being constructed), one along Khalifa and the other along C-ring (under finishing already). If you are serious, check these locations
"Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship"
the main consideration is ample car parking and at least, near a main road where the bus has a route. Souq Asiri is nice but already very crowded and a lot of competition already. If anyone can put-up a SM or Robinson's here in Doha, for sure it will be a welcome to all Filipinos!
"Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship"
Mansoura, Al Saad and Najma that it!

Life is short...300 meter before roundabout!
Anywhere where there is an ample parking and most importantly if you can import most of Philippines known kinds of vegetables and fruits, like in Lulu hypermarket, Pinoys will run after you wherever you wanted to put up...
PM me for sponsorship...

Are there much philipinos in Bin Omran?
to add more supermarkets to cater Filipinos (only?). However, considering Doha is beginning to implement her facelifts, most of these store you found in Souq (Asiri)now, I don't think it will still be there in the near future. As you have read from the newspapers, the whole area of Musherib and neighboring zones will be allocated to this Heart of Doha project: http://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=July2009&file=Local_News2009072315344.xml
Why not look for other suitable locations away from these upcoming projects of Doha? Haven't you noticed? Residential houses are slowly being re-located on the outskirts of Doha, far from the city?
what about an outlet near the church if possible? i agree, parking and bus routes are priorities in searching for outlets. consider how to bring down the prices also, not only food items but also non-food essentials

Souq Asiri, best place for philipinos

take me or leave me, im not changing....
ABU HAMOOR
all the suggestion is ok but the parking is the main problem. the parking in the souq so hard especially during friday and sat. please parking space is also prioritize. tnx.....
i agree with you, al ghanim is a good place.
best location is in the Suoq. See for your urself on weekends, hundreds of Filipino are flocking in from Ras Laffan, Messaied, Umm Bab, etc. You can make good business there. Good Luck!
near the bus stop at al ghanim is the best since not all filipinos have cars to go to bin omran or other area. The bus stop is always the best place.
how big your supermarket will be? Pls consider also accessibility of transport, because not all Filipinos have cars.
kindly put a branch in al-atiya here in industrial area...
That will surely be a hit. ^_^
"I don't go back on my words, that's my way of ninja"
Wooow, that would be great!
I second Bong123, that area fronting Dasman is a suitable location for SM.
TRY IT TO LOCATE in abu hamour commercial road, ( barwa commercial avenue ) its a good place sooner because all the souqs in doha will be soon trasfered there.
