*** Decent SERVICED APARTMENT in Doha??? ***

DonIsGood
By DonIsGood

G'day all,

My wife and I are relocating to Doha in July; my company has offered to temporary place us in a 1br FF Serviced Apartment for 2 months, to give us time to find our permanent home.

My company is proposing to place us in either:
* Le Mirage Executive Residence - bearable
* Le Mirage Suites - tiny shoebox room!

Apart from these two, can anyone recommend anything else?
If you can advise or has connection to a better place (that has free internet and Showtime TV), I'd love to hear more from you.

Cheers,
Don

PS, I have checked out Somerset; very impressive... so are their 5-stars rate!!!
PPS, I work near the Corniche; my wife doesn't drive...

I will be looking for an serviced one or two bedroom apartment in the luxury or executive style level. What kind of price level would I be looking at? Planning at arriving in Doha in mid October maybe, staying for long term, say perhaps two years.

Getting an apartment 2BHK filly furnished at Al Nasr for 7500 looks impossible! Any suggestions?

Hi! I hope this post is still open! I have relocated to Doha recently (hardly two weeks!). I'm a dentist and will be practicing at a dental clinic in Al Nasr. I visited the Jumeirah apartments and LaVilla near the Gold Souq. How much time does it take to commute from Jumeirah to Al Nasr? Il have to drive 4 times a day. Morning around 8.30, then at 1pm, 3.30 pm and 9 pm. Also any feedback on the Jumeirah apartments itself? I hope to have a place with good internet.

Hi Priyanga,

this seems to be quite old thread, but I am currently looking for short term residence, for the same reasons. I ll bring my family end of dec 2012, and the hotel rates are beyond my reach. Could you or anyone can guide/assist. Thanks

I work here single and my family (wife and daughter) will be visiting Doha on 19th March for 10 days. Looking for a decent serviced apartment, 1 or 2 bedrooms. Request for suggestion and recommendation.

Thanks in advance.

Don, Try Al Emadi Suites - I live there. They are good, clean, still quite new. 2bed apartment like mine is 12,000.

They have a web site if you google it.

Don-

Thanks for reply. I am actually staying at Jumeirah Furnished Apt now. Sorry to hear about your place. Did you sign a one year contract or month to month? If you can leave without penalty, I suggest you visit Jumeirah Apt. It's not bad at all.

I am paying 8,500 for 2 bedrooms with the cornich view. No contract, no deposit or any paperwork. It includes everything except housekeeping (cable internet, water, electric, local telephone). Parking is a little competitive but I am sure you can manage!

Their phone doesn't seem to work very well. Here's how you can get there.

From Dasman Center:

Go to B ring road, turn left on B ring (toward Najma), pass the first street light, you'll see a car dealer on the right hand side. That's is the Jumeirah Apt.

Remember the entrance to the apt is in the back of building.

Good luck.

Let me know if you have any problem.

Don - sorry for not replying back to you because I was also relocated to my new villa and just got back my connection this week.I hope you are enjoying your stay here in Qatar despite some of the bad experiences you had with the service of the hotel you are staying right now.

Feel free to message me anytime for help.

Hi Xpatadventure,

Sorry I can't help you with the Jumeirah apartment as North_me never came back to me with the details.

I am currently staying at the Le Grand Hotel in Al Sadd... good service, pity about the management (as they tried to overcharge us despite an agreement already in place) and TV channels though! In the space of last month, they have reduced the TV channels from 100 (mostly Arabic) to just 20 (mostly Arabic, of-course!). Not Happy!!!

Re Retaj Residence - They are hopeless when I checked them during my research. Front desk is completely useless and don't bother getting any help; and the place is located in the middle of nowhere! Oh, they are expensive too! QR15,000/mth! Not worth the money I'd say.

Cheers,

Don

Hey North,

Thanks for taking the initiative to provide details for the Jumeirah Apartment; much appreciated.

Yeah, if you happened to have the contact number, or the address for that matter, I could look into it when I visit Doha next week.

Just wondering, is Jadeed area where B Ring Road is? Sorry, I am a new kid on the block and is totally clueless with directions.

Cheers,

Don

Righto North, thanks for the clarification. It's just that when I google "Jumeirah apartment in Doha", all I could find was that it'll be 5-stars, located within the Dubai Towers on Corniche, and won't be ready for another few years. I wasn't aware that there is another Jumeirah apartment in Doha.

On that note, you wouldn't by any chance have their website, contact details, price? More importantly, do they have free internet and Showtime TV? :o)

Cheers,

Don
