Does anyone know anything about the Corniche/ Sheraton access being closed for a Conference today?

Hiya.
I need to get to the Sheraton today but I heard the road was closed for a 6 day conference? Surely not, I thought... and then I remembered that this is Qatar:)

Does anyone know the story here? Is it just the Sheraton entry that is closed? Would it be posssible to park on Corniche and walk?

... by walking is not an option. because if its close you will going to need an ID to enter the premises.
