Is Doha Dog Friendly?

Lemming
By Lemming

Hello everyone,

I will likely be moving to Doha, Qatar for a while, sometime in the middle of this coming year, and i would like to bring my French Mastiff with me. I've read up on some of the regulations with bringing foreign animals, but i wanted to hear from the people who live in and/or have visited Qatar or even Doha, about how welcome Dogs are.

Such as, if it will be okay to take her for walks, if there are any stores that will let me bring her in, things of that sort.

Any feedback and opinions are welcome!

Thank you for your time,
Lemming

This may be a good place for all to share their experiences.

We are looking to bring our 3 dogs over (1 lab and 2 cross breeds)and could do with having some feedback on those things that caused people trouble, particularly the flight and arrival..

We have been in contact with a specialist company who have quoted. Cost was very high so if anyone has contact details for such companies that service Qatar with good rates and service please post.

Thanks in anticipation..

hi if you bring yooure dogs here

first you have to consider the house

ask the owner of the house if they allow dogs to come and stay because for me i adopted 1 malteses my neighbores got freak out and they wanted my dog to be out of my place

but i beg for them and ask favor and i promised them that my dog will only stay in my room and cannot roam around my visiting area so that they cannot hear any noise .

just sharing

I did look up the banned list, and you're right, Mastiffs are banned. Darn, i'll have to leave her behind and see if any friends will be able to take care of her. Thanks Ratty!

To: QDCLover

Oh, well then, i suppose it's good I can't bring her with me. To an extent anyway.

To: Sannasam10

I'm sorry, but i'm still in the United States, so I wouldn't be much help with finding homes for them.

Thank you for the information! :)

There are a lot of dogs out here,I have six! Brought 2 from UK and aquired the rest out here, I'm not sure, but I think yours may be on the list of banned dogs in this country...please check. Having a dog out here is not always easy, but we do have some very good vets and a good support network if you want to get more involved in the care of dogs out here,
