It is best to buy a GPS equipment and get acquainted with how it works. Your travel would be less a headache. Go and check at Lingawi Trading near the Souq. They have different kinds of Garmin GPS to choose from.

hi,its easy.

1.first go to the salwa border, then entar the saudi border follow the sing AL Hasa city.when u reach the Hasa city, there is exit road from that city .follow the sing bord Al Dammame city its north east of saudi arabia.its very easy to drive in saudi, big roads and every 10km there is singbord for each city.if u are smart in driving u can not lose way.

2.after in dammam city see the exit road .show u kuwait border.so follow the sing and u will b on kuwait border.and then follow the kuwait city sings.

3.but if u have G.P.S with G.C.C map then its very very easy for u 2 fallow the route.hope u understand,take care

have a nice day.

1. how long does the drive take?

Between 3 and 12 hours depending on how fast you drive, and the congestion at the borders... I prefer to drive below 150km/h so 8h is a good guess.

2. what is the quality of the roads?

The roads have different qualities in different segments. The roads closer to the border are worse than the rest.

3. Is it safe? considering that I have my family onboard?

Mostly very safe, don't worry.

The roads are not bad... But...the sand in the desert will ruin ur car... to minimize damage..please use the protective coating which looks like mud. It comes in cans and can be sprayed on to the car. Once u reach ur destination..it can be washed off... with pressurized water.. I guess it is available in all the shops selling car accessories...

The front bumper, grille, fog lamps, headlamps, hood and the areas around the wheels (fenders) should be covered. If u r driving at night..the fog lamps and headlamps can be spared..u can apply liquid soap (lux liquid) on to the lamps..

Whatever u do..some amount of paint damage is inevitable.. So..if u really love ur car..take a flight..

I just drove thru the desert in my brand new BMW 330i.. and had to pay a hefty amount to replace the fog lamps and to fix the paint..

it takes around 9 hours.

The road from Qatar to Al Hafof is not that good and you may lost in Al Hafof but always keep going straight tell you reach Abu Hadriyah exit that will take you all the way to Kuwait.

Take your first left, second right...keep straight until you see the city of Kuwait, or just get an airplane ticket.
