Marhaba axxomail,
I would advise you to use the past perfect tense.

why specially the USA ? you mean if from any other country will be a subject of rejection ? from UK, France, Germany or canada is like nothing ? and from the USA then we should raise the hat for this document :) sound funny
as said earlier, depends where u are coming from, i mean if u arriving from USA, & bear Int'l driving license, then nothing to worry about & u can get temporary driving license during ur short stay, otherwise no one could object the international driving license if its issued from USA.

i will.
yeah, keep us posted. we would be happy for you to get the DL that easy. as easy as you had claimed. Goodluck and good day as well
i will see the moon case after i finish the qatari one :)
have a good day :)
axxomail, you said "i think driving is driving ,, in egypt in qatar on the moon .."
That's good thinking. If you are still alive after 3 weeks of driving in Doha, can you please share your experience.

If you are on a tourist or visit visa, you can use your IDL.
no worries. we do hope you goodluck and safe driving.
though you dont drive to nor on the moon, do you?
cheers! :)
i think driving is driving ,, in egypt in qatar on the moon .. that is why there is something called international driving permit .. it allowed me to drive in Europe .. so will see this issue when i arrive :) thank you all for the help.
@ axxomail, im just trying to reply to your queries.
i think you should just go get DL and see for yourself. cause i might be wrong. :)
@ kafteji, hi, i didnt get what you mean. you have 3 years experience driving where?
i actually got dubai's license with manual (which allows you to drive both manual and automatic) and you really have to just forget all your bad manners on and off road when taking the exams so you can pass on your 1st try.
in your coutry you need to get your license before you drive, same as well here in qatar you need to get license before you drive, qatari have their license to drive so we need also to get a qatar license before we drive...although you have international license that doesn't mean you are exempted.....if you pass the driving test at once then you can prove that you're a driver.....if not, only in your country you can drive....
Cath, I agree that after 10 years of hell driving you'll loose good habits or at least habits you need to show to the muroor guy the day of exam like looking into mirrors, because we develop a real time calculation of distances so that our brain will not need to look at neighboring cars.
Myself I had only 3 years driving before I passed the qatari one. I didn't take school, I just had 1 hour the day before exam just to have an idea about the L parking thingy
very weird .. why some one cant get his\her driving license since he\she can drive and prove that in a test drive !!
im afraid putting your "formula driver" knowledge especially during exams wont get you nowhere. :)
bet you have to take driving school from scratch and get to take all sorts of tests.
and taking the exams really needs more luck than anything. our egyptian friend up to now wasnt able to pass exams, and he even wonders why he just cant pass since he feels he never made a mistake during exams. just to give you example.
anyway, goodluck to taking your DL. :)
thanks cath for your rapid reply :) .. i am from Egypt and i dont have GCC license .. but i drive in my country since 2000 or 2001 so why obtaining license would be hard ? taking into info that driving in Egypt is like driving in hell :D so i think in any other place i will be like a formula driver :)
it depends, from where are you, and if you have GCC license, you can drive for a certain period of time. :)
obtaining a license is another issue, and for some it's quite hard to get one.
