Egyptian a/c

Please don't take this the wrong way, but... My office on site has Carrier split a/c's that are made in Egypt (according to the label). So far we have had 4 fail in a little over a year. Do I have a bad lot or has anyone else had a similar problem? I just need to know if I can put in a claim against the installer or supplier, or are they all crap?

The label is on the condensor units outside. This is the part that keeps failing. The indoor fan-coils are all fine!

I think Carrier is not Egyptian made, Miraco Carrier is. Is the label on the switch or the split itself? Please check this out.

Back home I have POWER air conditions installed in my apartment, made in Egypt. We've been using the same brand over the past 10 years. Every other summer we have them cleaned. They're good heavy duty.

I hope the problems will be solved before summer heated time.

They carry the name of the international brands but isn't a legal source of material origin. In such situations you have to trust the "Made in China" products of such brands as they are much much legal than this ones and the actual factories is in that country (other than the European ones).

If a Westerner monitors the product-selling of the international brands, it's quite assured you get the legal products...but the 'sponsors' of such international brand distributors are willing to hire more Arabs as 'monitors' than Westerners as they're quite 'cheaper' and 'trusted', hence the by-pass of the 'fake' Philips products, for example.
