Electricity bill and house agreement !!!!!!!!

i am moving to a new villa on next monthonwards .House broker asking me he need 2000 riyal for changing the electricty bill from his name to my name and says its refundable.could u tell me is that exact amount for changing electricity bill under my name and please also avise me what are things i need to takecare when write a house agreement under my name.House owner needs 12months check in advance. Thnks in advance for all ur prompt answers .

the amount is QR. 2000,yes it is true, this is in order to transfer the name from the previous tenant into your name, and this entire amount is refundable when you leave the place, unless there are pending electricity or water bills, then these will be deducted from the QR. 2000 which is yours.

Concerning the house contract, do no worry about a thing, these contracts are available in any grocery shop or stationary shop all are the same. 12 months cheques and one month cash for the real estate broker.

Yes you need to pay 2000 qr for taking water and electricity connection and which is totally refundable when u cancel your contract with the landlord.

You have to give one month notice before your agreement ends.

Hii all, thanks a lot for your all valuable comment. I have one more question ,howmany month in advance i need to inform to the land lord when i plan to disconnet the agreement and shall i add that also in the agreement..?

Its Kaharama Deposit (refundable) and you will get a receipt for it from Kaharama.

yes this is the amount to change the bill for another person name also it is refundable actually electricity department keep this money as an advance deposit . u need to keep the original reciept( deposit of 2000QR)with you and should be from kahrama to get the money back

yes that is correct. the 2000 is refundable when you move out from the house and do not have any outstanding bill with karhama. i think you only need copies of your passport and rp to make the housing agreement and then you will need a copy of the housing agreement for the karhama switch. some house owners might ask for more information.

You will get a receipt in your name for that amount. You can claim the money back against the original receipt when you vacate .

If you are giving post dated cheques, common practice is to take a written undertaking along with the contract that the land lord will encash only cheque that is due on the date and not all of them together.
