Gym, sauna, and pool are fantastic, there is a bar with non-alcoholic drinks and snacks right near the swimming pool. A lot of Lebanese on weekends and it's sucks. Kids' playground is relatively OK but kids' swimming pool is still not working. There is a new seafood restaurant opened but quite expensive. A new grocery store will be open soon in Tower 2. Free shuttle bus only for residents from Ezdan going to City Centre. Ezdan babysitters and Ezdan limousin drivers available on call - they charge less if you are a resident and it's so cool if you have kids! Call the reception and they send you a babysitter and you can go out with your husband!
Apartments are quite big, the finishing is chip, kitchen appliances are all brand new however the kitchen itself is too small!
Overall, despite all negative points in Ezdan there are a lot of positive points that made us to stay in Ezdan.
because they dont really think straight... i bet in some years this place will be a total disaster. really, these lack of thought is a shot in their foot.
it has started to be anoying on fridays with all the outsiders at the pool... we just dont stay there when they start getting in. So, it is pool early in the morning on fridays...
Just heard that Ezdan Gym is now offering membership to outsiders.. This will probably mean an influx of outsiders and also the facilities may not always be available to residents..
they had this nice little coffee shop - a bit limited as for food choices - and a good weekend breakfast buffet. All nice, new and with lots of the residents hanging out - and spending there - on a daily basis. Day and night. Of course as soon as the place was open for about 6 months - and still was smelling like new- they decided to put the palce down. Literally. To do nothing there. For no reason.. other than LACK OF FUCTIONING BRAIN to run this place.
They open this extremely ugly restaurant totally out of palce for people outside this complex and miles away from being what residents here need, enjoy and would like to have as a palce to hang out. Really... what is it that they had to put a finger on something that was a success to fullfill some lcoal ego with the most horrendous restaurant... it sure deserves a visit and a photo. If you tell nobody will believe it.
Im in tower 1, only been here a month. There are areas of stupidity when it comes to power sockets ( I sleep with the microwave next to my face) and you can see little nagging cheap finishes, but Im ot paying for it. So any free place is a good place to me lol. Laundry is pretty expensive aswell as the new restaurant that has just opened. I guess one major problem is the noise from the construction site right next to the hotel, but i guess thats just one of those things that you have to get used to in Doha. But like its been said by others, some rooms your lucky and some your not. Overall though I would say it's not that bad...
hi carol! unfortunately that is one virtue i never have "PATIENCE" !! but i guess if i've managed to stay in the sahara for 5 years i can make it in ezdan!
Just keep in mind you will need a VERY LARGE dose of patience... from talking to staff and the fact nobody cares if you complain about their work to getting things done. Mind you, when something is done as we would expect we get surprised! Honestly. In a whole... if you have patience and know what to expect...well... it is ok.
hello britexpat, can you please tell me what is your impression of ezdan suites if you have moved there at all. you see i'm suppose to start work in qatar and my company is providing for my accommodation which is at the ezdan. i've been trying to find out some info about it and i get to read different feedback about it. so just in case you did move in there can you please tell me you first hand knowledge about it. thanks!
Yes Al Mana is the one with BHS - think the rent is 14,000 for a two bedroom, there is a gym and a small market that is all. Good location and not a bad place to live. Few complaints but minor.
1)first time I came in I experienced a terrible smell and water leakages in the toilet. Only partially fixed after 1 month
2)Water leakages and bad smell in the kitchen (2 months chasing people to fix it)
3)furniture damaged or even broken
4)Smell of garbage in the corridors of my floor
5)I had to pay for satellite tv connection
6)Gym is OK
7)Pool is good looking but poor Hygiene (I ve seen people bathing with clothes and maintenance guys swiping dirty water IN the pool)
I can go on and on with power blackouts,no cold water in bathroom, fire alarm ringing at night...
To sum it up: if you can, try to walk away from Ezdan, if you have to go there put a disclaimer in the contract that says you have to inspect your assigned room before entering. You will survive anyways, be patient...really patient with them...
hi we are planning to relocate from our two b/room apt to a better place. thought of looking at al mana towers. is it the same one which houses BHS now(newly opened) opposite Hardees? Would you mind mentioning the rent of a two bedroom and three bedroom apt? and also about other facilities that are available. thanks for your time and info in advance.
We looked at ezdan suites a while back now and were digusted at what we saw - ou cld not swing a cat in the one bedroom apt - the extras are good but no way - so we now live in Al Mana Towers in Al Saad - much nicer - spacious, clean - have no complaints
Basic crokery and utensils are included (but I have bought some extra in Carrefour). Vacuum cleaner not needed as they clean twice a week. Towels and sheets are included and they change twice a week.
TV has 100 channels, I havent go through all them but I think you have available most of the basics. But I noticed that there is no one scrambled, that means you cannot access to any pay per view channel even if you willing to pay for them.
1 room apt, with kitchen-livingroom-bedroom in only one space. 9.300 QAR.
Quite expensive for my standards, but not so much compared with rest of Doha.
Bathroom really s**ks. Very poor finishing.
And I have some problems in kitchen (I cannot put the soap in the washing machine, because of the door, and if I move the washing machine I cannot close the closet door).
but I have seaviews and I love it... (even if window is a awful dirty)
A number of us moved into apartments at the Ezdan in July. Overall our experience has been very mixed. Initially we all moved into Tower 4. - As everyone else has mentioned, the finishing is terrible, looks like the whole thing was put together overnight (which it likely was).
Nothing in the apartments worked. The dishwasher electrocuted my friend, the bathrooms often experienced flooding (the shower stalls are tiny btw, and very annoying). The bathrooms in general compared to the rest of the apartment is unnecessarily cramped. Service was terrible, they rarely responded to calls and when they did it was certainly not prompt - for repairs or anything else. With the laundry service, hand it in and hope for the best! You'll probably get it back, it might be after several days of calling them.
We had no internet for months. The TVs usually did not work, if they did the signal is awful.
After that experience we moved from Tower 4 to Tower 3 (34th floor!) this is quite a bit nicer, fewer problems with the apartment. Although one of the 'sprayers' in the the living room bathroom exploded spontaneously at night and flooded the whole place. (this is minor compared to Tower 3 issues :P)
I'm in a two bedroom now, and it's very strange - one room is several times larger than the other.
However, the gym and pool really are fantastic. And once you get over the initial hump of having everything repaired, it becomes quite decent.
I've been at Ezdan since mid August. Im in Tower 4 however... I've heard some crap about 1 and 2 but 4 is cool. The only pain I've had is that they insist on doing one of the 2 cleanings per week on a friday morning. I mean.. really.... most people are trying to sleep.... I would think it would make sense to do it during the week.
I have a 1 bedroom (livingroom, kitchen, bedroom and 2 bath) on a 2 month contract. Honestly, I think its overpriced (and Im only on the 6th floor).
i've lived there for a month now and can say it is rather cheap overall (but it's also less expensive than others in the area to be honest) and already had few plumbing problems in my flat..
on the other hand it is very convenient if you work on this side of town as it will save you a lot of traffic headaches... plus i agree with olivka: gym and swimming pool are very good
that's true. Finishing sucks, as elsewhere in Qatar. Furniture is not brand new, but at least comfortable and clean. Lighting is dull in the appartments... Kitchen is too tiny...Windows are small and dirty, but now they started to clean them.
To cover all these negative points they provide the best gym and swimming pool in Doha, free of charge for tenants. Free cabel and Internet, free shuttle bus from your Tower to City Center, so you don't have to spend hours trying to find parking there. Housekeeping 2 times per week, full maintenance service. Small cafe in the Towers - you can enjoy a fresh coffee in the mornings; the sea food restaurant...Small play area for kids with slides and swings. All this is very helpful for the family with kids - especially housekeeping:)!
I went for the first time to Ezdan today and what a complete and utter piece of trash it is.
The finishings in Tower 3 were atrocious. How could the builder let this happen? The building is relatively new and already broken tiles, filthy cielings and walls. The wall tiles are still filthy from the worthless masoners who installed them. Typical old Doha masonry. Paint around the light switches, paint on the trim, careless finishing throughout. PLASTIC MOLD DOORS?!?! How cheap can they be?? Seriously I would not pay 2000 QR a month for any these crap dwellings. Filthy windows, CHEAP CHEAPO CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP a thousand times over. All this and I can believe people actually live in this skunkhole. TRASH TOP TO BOTTOM. I have seen better in the older buildings near Musheirib

Doesn't Ezdan mean "skunkhole" in Arabic?
A more appropriate name would be Skunkhole Suites.
because they dont really think straight... i bet in some years this place will be a total disaster. really, these lack of thought is a shot in their foot.
Obviously, the Ezdan management is just trying to make as much money as possible out of the venture, without due thought for the residents..
it has started to be anoying on fridays with all the outsiders at the pool... we just dont stay there when they start getting in. So, it is pool early in the morning on fridays...

hi, thanks for the input only thing is i really have no say on where i stay as the company provides for my accommodation..
thanks for the info, i guess i'll just have to see for myself then come december.
haven't heard any major problems so far..
but if you still have doubts about the place,
there's still lots of serviced-apartments
to choose from.. ciao.
cheers,
paul
Sorry, I am still in serviced apartments..
I have a colleague who lives in Ezdan..
He says that there are minor problems like internet going down, water not working, smell from the bathroom sometimes..
However, on the whole he's satisfied..

Hi all, could you please mention the rentals of two or bedroom apt at Ezdn suites. the contract will be for one year. thanks

it is not a particular issue of Ezdan Towers

i like the gym stuff and the pool. but pretty costly
I think its 14,000 QAR.... based no a 2 month contract.
I think its overpriced though for what one gets.
But look, it works and atleast there is a pool, a good gym and its quiet.
Brin
How much do u pay for ur apartment Brin?
Regards.
..., but finishing is crap.
Love my sea view from the lofty 24th floor, all the free services, have wired internet but I've just added a wireless router thing which is great.
Suits me just fine. Happy.
As suggested brit, check the actual appt you'd be getting!
Torque 8-)
hey i'm in tower 1! at least i'm high up and get a good view of doha.

1 and 2 are supposed to be rubbish.
3 and 4 are nice

I've been living in the Ezdan for 2 weeks now. Apart from the size and cost of the studio, no issues so far.
From experience: insist on seeing the actual apartment you will get, as some are considerable less pleasant than the 'show' apartments
