finding somewhere to live help needed

We have just arrived and i would like to start house hunting, how does it work here? We have come over from the UAE.

My questions are

Do all letting agents charge the tenant a fee or this this paid by the landlord.

If tenant pays how much is it?

Can I hope to find a place that includes water, cooling, electricity, tv, internet?

Are there any serviced apartments here?

Can contracts have a break clause?

Is maintenance an issue?

My husband is working on the Hamad Hospital redevelopment, we want to live near there, he needs an easy commute after doing Abu Dhabi to Dubai everyday for 4 years! Where would be good?

Our budget (maximum) is 10000 what can we hope to find for that?

Or we better looking for unfurnished or fully furnished?

Any good letting agent out there if so I need contact details please

Thank you!!

Good day, I belive you have a good budget for a nice accomodation, Doha is a very small city so dont worry about driving at all, as for the serviced appartment you can check EZDAN Towers ( West Bay) or Les Roses ( Banks street) you can also go to a compound I would highly suggest Beverly hills compound Rayan ( I used to live there) apartments are not serviced but the compound is very well maintained, great pool combined with a nice loungy clubhouse, squash court, a very useful gymn and a very useful supermarket. Also AL Raeis offer laundry service overthere. You can also check for accomodtaion here on QL in the classified section. Good luck

Good luck with your new adventure, we live in AD and might be moving over too, the thought of having to start over again is daunting, discovering new rules and regulations.... hope the house hunting goes well.

I should congratulate you for being in Doha because this place creates and nurtures a wholesome family environment aside of course from the fact that this is a very wealthy country.

For your housing needs, please call Rami 55737221 a rep for well-known real estate company in Doha.

There are spacious fully furnished 2/3 bedroom apartments in Al Saad/Bin Mahmoud Area with facilities like gym and pool. Most of the new buildings got good maintenance.

Most of the agents charge 1/2 month rent as commission. If you are lucky you might find one without any commission.

Checkout QL classified section you will find many.

You will have a lot available to you at that rate. All places vary in what is offered-some have everything down to teacups and towels, some are empty shells where you need to put in your own AC! It varies. Make sure you ask all the questions. The AlSadd area and Ibn Omran are close to Hamad and you should be able to find lovely homes there. I really like the Ibn Mahmoud area-depending on what you want and your expectations and the amount of space you need, you should be able to get a great flat for 10000QR.

Get a good handle on what the market is and then be prepared to JUMP on the one you love. We found nice UF apt w/ACs for 5000-6000 with good floors and finishing (2 bedroom). Not fancy, but clean and in nice buildings. 10K and you should be able to get something pretty nice. I have seen villas and large flats in that price range if you are going to need a maid or have children.

Best to you, and WELCOME TO DOHA!!!
