Hello there, please be all advised that near the pedestrian pass there are sensors underneath the asphalt mant as to detect movement .

If you park on those sensors even if you make a full stop it will trigger the cameras and you will be flashed.

So it could be that.....or the one going in front of you was in such a hurry that activated the cameras and then he/she was flashed.

Just go to moi.gov.qa and check...otherwise be prepared to be fined and for less points on driving license.

Best regards

1. Are you sure it flashed you? The cameras usually flash the rear of the car.

2. If you are approach the light going to fast (such as speeding up to beat it) and then stop it will capture you for speeding. The intersection prior to Villagio's does it often. Watch the MOI site and see if you got a citation.

As a sidebar keep in mind that at some lights you must pull up to the line or close to it because the lights work off a weight sensor and if you sit back 2 meters or so the light will not change. You can check with MOI or Ashgal to confirm this.

Traffic light cameras are triggered either by using ground loops that are cut into road surface or radar technology. When using loops, as the traffic lights turn red the system becomes active, any vehicle passing over the sensor in the road after this time is then photographed. The computer is the brains behind the operation. It is wired to the cameras, the triggers and the traffic-light circuit itself. The computer constantly monitors the traffic signal and the triggers. If a car sets off a trigger when the light is red, the computer takes two pictures to document the violation. The first picture shows the car just on the edge of the intersection and the second picture typically shows the offender in the intersection and records the date, time of day, the elapsed time since the light turned red and the vehicle's speed. So it was not you, who comitted the violation but somebody else because as you have stated, it flashes twice.

well let me explain to you how the camera works u see there is a line before which he car is supposed to stop if you ignore the line and cross it during a red line the camera flashes twice

1st flash to see whether the car has crossed the line

second shot to see whether the car crossed the line and went ahead

but if u got both shots while you were on the line ur lucky

;)
