Hi

I have been informed by my company that in order for them to process ny residency n I need a " Good Conduct Certificate" or "Police Report" from the UK.

I have never heard of a "Good Conduct Certificate"...

Can anyone please shed light on this and also tell me how I get one..

Thanks

To be honest this was introduced a couple of years ago to prevent criminals coming into the country as God knows they have enough of those already here.

When you get here you can get it within 5 mins from the British Embassy - you just have to fax your details the day before and then go and collect it and pay of course as nothing in life is free.

By the way just for general information since I lefet home in 1969 which was nearly 100 years ago the first thing that I had to do was to  produce fthis certificat for working abroad  so it is not uncommonand and it is not really a new thing.

I contacted the local police and they did me a letter for 10 quid, took about 4 weeks to get it as they send it to Scotland Yard. Just phone the local police station and they know what your talking about.

Brit expat,

I think your company should have told you about this when you where in the UK. My company told me well in advance and I managed to get it when I was still in London. UK police issues some thing called the subject access letter which is equivalent to the police certificate. It takes upto six weeks to get it from the Met Police. Go to the Met Police website and just search for subject access letter or police certificate. If you are in Qatar now, I hope the UK Embassy can help you in this regard.

Hey,

Don't panic, Just call to your embassy and inquire wether this document is being done here, if they say yes then your embassy has to stamped it and you have to go the ministry of foreign affairs for stamping and then your done.

If this is not being done here bad luck because u have to request from your home country thru the help of your relatives. If they sent it to you(relatives), you have to go to your embassy for stamping and to the ministry of foreign affairs and then ur done......

The purpose of this is to be able for them to know wether you have a previous criminal records.....

I hope this helps you...

You say 'I am a good girl/boy' - regardless
