Hi everyone

I need a guidance and helpful advice from you dear folks......

I am a qualified C.A from India. working in gulf in dubai since past 4 years.

I have just married and looking out for a change.. I have got an offer from a

mnc in doha... they are providing me a good package, accomodation and transport..

My query is what whould be my  idle package ? I am able to save atleast 75000 indian rupees here. What should i finally settle for?

How about my wife who has a decent job of secretary here? I mean is it easy for ladies to get a job ( especially when she is on husband visa).......

I have a younger sis who too wants to come to doha with me...is it easy to get a job in doha for her? she is working as a secretary in dubai.......Can i sponsor my sis...?

I want in near future my parents to join me in doha ? what are the requirements?

Please do help me as i have to decide sooner...

 Thanks in anticipation...........

I had a job interview in Doha in the oil industry with international company.

I am Engineer with western engineering degree and 20 years of western experience.

The interview was for a Contract Manager position in Doha.

Questions (urgent responses are appreciated):

1.What is the expected (base)salary range for such a position?

2.Can the company pay back the employee an equivalent check to replace the Taxes that I will end up paying in my home country?

3. What is the rent cost for (furnished) accomodations (4 bed rooms 2-floors villa, 3 bath rooms, AC, seperate maid room,in a closed complex)? Should I ask the company to pay rent directly? Should I accept an allowance then I pay for the rent? Does the rent increase every 3 months, or 6 months, or one year? Should the (utility)costs be included in the deal?

4. What kind of a percentage bonus should I ask for?

5. Should I accept an allowance for kids' school? or should I ask the company to pay the school directly? Is the bus transportation cost usually part of the deal?

6. Air line tickets: Should I ask for economy or buisness travel? Is that too much to ask? Do I get paid an allowance for the tickets or the company pay directly?

7. How many days of vacation am I expecting to get per year? If I do not go back home for vacation, would I loose the vacation?

8. What does (13th check) means?

9. Would the company provide a car?

10. What is the best hospital in Doha that has the best Doctors? What are typical details for the (private) health care and benefits?

11. How many sick leave am I allowed to get?

11. Am I missing something that I should be aware of?

I do appreciate your immediate responses very much.

(Daniyah).

its not like singles girls are not taken up on employment.its better if she takes up employment with a firm thats willing to sponsor her...bcos hee they usually prefer if the woman is on hubby/dad sponsorship....less headaches.

but she can come down here on visit visa of one month extendable by 6 months...and try to get in a firm.her experience will help her and the surely will be org that will sponsor her.

i still feel you should try to negotiate around 11 and see if they can come down to 10.you know how it is with work and pay....the pay you come here with is the one you are stuck with.so its better to make a good deal before coming here.

this place is less expensive than dubai bcos the lifestyle of dubai is very fast.this place is a bit slow.

Is in oman the visit visa valid for 6 months. In dubai it is valid for 2 months with a month of extension.

Thanks han19 for the valuable info...

Is is that single girls dont get a job in doha i mean sponsorship easily ( my sis is in her 30's and has more than 10 years exp with 3 years in dubai) are there any chanches she can get a sponsor...job of secretary .........

The company personnel dept says 9k + acco + car is the best package they offer...for this position... But they have let me negotiate as i have not yet resigned from my current job..

I am grateful to all you guys..........your opinions are doing lot of good for me...thanks a ton

the price list i gave still stands....you should opt for that.

9k and 8 years for a CA is a little less.

I am not saying it's impossible, but chances are less. Most of the ad we see for Secretaries clearly mention either transferable visa or should be under father's or husband's sponsorship. I am not sure if you can sponsor her.

I don’t think you can sponsor your sister and your parents permanently; you can bring them on a visit visa which is valid for a period of 6 months maximum.

Getting a job for your wife won't be a problem. As she was working in Dubai.

As for your sister unlike Dubai, Companies don’t prefer single Indian ladies due to Sponsorship problem. Only if she is technically qualified or some specialized field they may opt to hire single Indian females.

Your salary seems to be little low than the current market rate. I think you should negotiate for a minimum of 12K + accommodation + car. + ticket.

Good luck.

The company is providing the accomodation ..

The company is providing with a car also...

Can you guide me the package i should negotiate for

as the company has asked me for the same...

their initial offer is 9000 QR with company provided accomodation and company car. with yearly 30 days paid leave and airfare to and fro mumbai. They are offering to me the post of Chief Accountant.

Is this offer fine...

Yes, my wife is having a good job here as secretary and earning

4k , while i earn 8k ( but none of our companies provide us accomodation).. My sis is elder to me is earning 6k and she is also a secretary ( but she is single). My parents are in their 50's.

Please clarify whether the package is fine 9k and whether i am asking for less...what is the market value...

I am a M.com, C.A. and have more than 8 years of work experience in well reputed companies ..

I definetely want my wife and sis and parents to be along me...

I have heard that ladies have only few job offers...is it true and that getting job for ladies is not so easy in doha.....

Please guide

& thanks for the reply..............god bless you

hi rajesh

dont know you current pay or expected offer..then we can answer better...but since you are a CA...they are usually paid well. so i would say apprx.

basic:15000+

accom: ask for furnished family accom...dont opt for allowance

transport: allowance or vehicle provided to you.

paid leave

school allowance.

there is alwasy scope for your wife to get a job here....it takes time....and they are cool with women under spouse/father sponsorship for work.no issues.for her experience and qualification she will land a good job.

regarding your sister: she can come her on visit visa...not sure about you sponsoring her permanently. age factor plays a role unless she too gets a job and the company she decides to work for takes up her sponsorship.you will have to check this out.

your parents: if they are too old...then they usually create a hassle in issuing visas...but nothing is impossible in doha provided you have the right contacts and the person who will do the immigration work should know who to get this work done.

any more info?

what is the job title you were offered?

if you don't mind, can you provide details of the package?

from what i have seen on this site, no matter what they are giving you for accomodation, it won't be enough, so unless they are giving you an apartment, part of your salary will go to rent.

cars seem reasonable (at least compared to Egypt - i'm thinking of making the move to Doha too).

other expenses will probably average out to something comparable to Dubai.
