I have a trafic violation fine of QAR.6000 for making a U turn while the trafic Amber colour signal was blinking BUT BEFORE THR RED light appeared. Is there any way of reducing the fine? I also want to know how many days I am allowed to take to pay the trafic fine?

Well in my case, i also made a U turn while the signal turned amber, but i wasn't caught by the camera flash, so if you're sure that you made U turn before the signal was red, then definitely you go to the Madinat Khalifa Traffic Department and clarify your situation, there are sometimes misunderstandings and misjudgements, so go there and check the details, the photos will justify the situation.

Go Traffic Police department at Medanat Khalifa Police staion. Explain them your version, they will have photo of your car. If there is any doubt they might reduce it. But if the photo is correct and you did jump red light then you have to pay the violation penalty fee.

Ok....firstly the green blinks thrice engaging amber. The amber doesn't blink. Amber stays for 4 seconds before the red engages.

Now how sure are you that you cleared your last sensor (after white strip) before red came on? Most red jumps are done during a U and a Left turn. My friends jumped red coz there was a huge dumper ahead of them and they cudn't see the signal turn red while they crossed the last sensor. Once crossed you can still stop and reverse. Most people choose not to and end up penalised.

It also may have happened that another vehicle may be crossing at the time as you and you've been falsely caught instead. The photos will certainly prove it.

Whats your exact explanation on this? You better have a good argument for the Traffic police guys. Goodluck and cheers!!

I know people who got Violation fine of 6000 for not there mistake, as in one case signal was out of function & when they passed it clicked & in the other case, there was an ambulance therefore he had to move ahead.. but for both the fines were removed on the complain..if you are sure it was amber then iam pretty sure, they wont charge you. there is a place in gharaffa behind landmark i guess, thats the center where they give out the pictures and movies of your violation to clarify. check with them...you can ask for their number over 180.
