for the past 1 year i've been driving to alkhor 5 days a week during every shift and previously for some months i've been to Raslaffan but had Bus Transport service by the company and it was cool, that i got time to sleep and chat to and fro the driveway.
well now it's a different story,to hurry on the highway track where there is only 2 lanes(fast and medium and no slow track for buses, vans and slow drivers) its pretty tough. Travelling alone on a daily basis is so boring and at times you feel and fall sleepy(realy).
you need a very good car(good condition and extra roadworthy) to ply the fast road especially these summer days. Kms(mileage) in the speedometer gets sped so fast that you won't believe, everytime fill full tank fuel.
everytime you are on the fast track somewhere supercars would be flashing behind you, on the other track its medium, slow drivers other than company vehicles like Buses. if you are driving during rush hour especially morning 6.30-8.00 its tough driving. every time you set to go to Raslaffaan make it a point to start at least 1.30 hours (approx. during rush hours) before you reah destination. recently the authorities fixed a new two way speed camera .
driving a week or two on the road to Raslaffan will familarise more.
Depends on where you live in Doha. Live in old airport area and it will take 30 - 40 mins to get across town in the rush hour. Live west bay, duhail, gharffa side and you can do it in 45 mins driving safely. Road is good. Drivers can be bad...
