Importing 1997 Vehicle into Kuwait (GCC exemption)?

Hello,

I've read on the Internet that Kuwait prohibits vehicles more than 5 years old from being imported.

Does anyone know whether vehicles already registered in another GCC country (e.g., Qatar) are exempt from this rule? I've got a 1997 car I want to take with me when I move up there on 1.7.2010; otherwise, I'll be forced to part with it, and I don't want to for sentimental as well as practical reasons. Thanks!
