Guys Need your help,

I read on most of the blogs and websites that International Driving license is valid in the country for a period of 6 Months, But looks like there is uncertainty on the tenure as in 6 Months or as long as you stay..

I hold an Indian International Driving license- 4 wheeler and am wanting to drive around.. But I do not have clarity on this issue and the penalty for Driving without a license from qatar - Could some one share light on this pls...

Thanks and Regards
BW

An International driving permit is useful only if you are here on business or visit, and you are driving a rent-a car.

If you are getting an resident/work visa here, you cannot use the IDP to drive, you need to get a Qatari license.Your indian driving license cannot be exchanged for a Qatari one, you have to attend riving classes and take the test.

I suggest that you take a few driving classes anyway, bcoz even though you are an expert driver in India, diving in Qatar is totaly different.

NO! U has to obtain a Qatar D/L, for that you have to follow a 12 course, then the exam…..

Any ways, good luck!

You can only use your Indian driving license in Qatar if it is to drive a rent-a-car.

You cannot use any other car or else the insurance does not cover it and if you have an accident, you will be in trouble and the insurance will not pay for any damages that may have been caused with you driving.
