Kahramaa Web site / e-gov

I've finally gotten sick of going to Kahramaa to pay my water and electricity bill.

They have an online bill payment, but it doesn't work. Some people claimed that it has worked in the past, but stopped recently.

https://www.e.gov.qa/BillPaymentWeb/billLookup.jsp?lang=en

Also, anyone know why most of the e-government web site doesn't work at all?

It's like someone decided to put in an e-gov site and then just got lazy.

e-gov work but not perfect due to certificate issue. They don't have valid certificate on their web server for the www.e.gov.qa people will recognize that site is not working if you are using FireFox try using Opera it works....

But they must fix their server certificate!

could be because of the pop-up blocker of your browser (internet explorer). You have to click on "temporarily allow pop-ups from this site".

Using Credit Cards to pay on line is not wise as the hackers could get hold of the card numbers with the pin (both of which you will be entering with the helpof spyware or such programmed software.

Always double check the address at the task-bar at the bottom left hand side is the same address you would want to pay.

eg: when I m typing this message my address below (not on top) shows " http://qatarliving.com/user/iwael".

Using the Bank's auto-debit feature would be better as the bills comming from kahramaa will be deducted automatically. You might have to fill a one time form with the bank giving the kahramaa details.

I always settle my kahramaa bill online - sometimes via e-gov but most of the time thru my Doha Bank internet account. Another option for you would be to call their Visa phone no., that is of course if you wish to settle your bill thru Visa credit card. Just quote your electricity # and provide them with a fax number where they can send your receipt.

I have been paying my bills online since ages now.... never faced any problems. It may be the site was down due to maintenence when your tried to pay.

It could be that your PC is infected with Spyware/ Malware. You should scan your PC with a good Antvirus.

18 months through the e-gov site. I have been trying to pay this month bill and have attempted many time but in most case it says "page not found". On one occasion I got a page that says that the site is shutdown for maintainence. So, it seems that they are doinh something with the site but wow the amount of time its taking in amazing.

It seems that nobody in Qatar Government is aware of 24*7 availability and that down time should be minimal.

i have never been to the kahrama office i have heard its difficult going in person and paying it. given my erratic schedules i always found paying online was the easiet option.

i bank with cbq and cbq online has a provision to pay kahrama bills online. everymonth i just click on the icon and surprisingly the amout due gets relected. how kahrama updates cbq every month im not sure but i end up paying the bill in the cool confines of my office or my home...

try it... the only good thing about cbq is the online part its a pleasure.
