Karwa Bus

Good Day. I found that Qatar's Public Transport Mainly Bus, does't serve the purpose of them being on the streets, specially this summer season. The Operation team's main concern is the timing of the Bus. They're Drivers getting a lot of fine if they are late and if they Pick-up a person not on the Bus Stop Post. We know how hot it is outside and if the Bus Pass right in front of you and try to wave in the driver and your 10 meters away from the Bus Stop post, they won't stop at you. And they didn't anticipate putting a waiting Shed on places where they got more Passenger, instead they put on those places where no one waits. There is also a time where in if the Bus Driver doesn't want to be late reaching the main Bus Terminal in Souq, they won't stop in Bus Stands.

Imagine to stay out for 20mins or more in this kind of wheather and if your not in the bus stop post cause you try to hide somewhere they won't stop at you. They're Operation Manager didn't anticipate this problems due to they got they're own car and never experience things like this. I'm pretty sure they don't even wanted to Park they're Car away from they're destination for it's too hot to walk. Best Example of Bus Stop Post where in there is no Shed is in Front of Villaggio Mall in both Sides of the Road and you got no place to hide.

For that reason you can't blame they're driver's not picking any waving, running after them, begging passenger's on the streets that is not on Bus Stands, for they don't wanted to keep on paying penalties. But is shouldn't be this way. Company doesn't serve people well even this Summer Season only.

Hi Amoud. I know it's a Global System for the buses to stop at Bus stop stands but they should be as well equipped with Waiting Shed and I don't think that other countries is as hot as here and frequency were more often and on time.

First of all I would like to thank you Guys for the support on this thread. In regards to the Frequency of Buses, most of them were every 20mins or more.

This is really something worth acting upon. While passing through the waiting passengers on the roads on my way and back from work,I always wonder the hardships everyone goes through because of the thoughtlessness of the public transport officials here. The bus stands with shade is the basic requirement in this hot weather and most of the times it's hard to see one for miles. I have seen people standing under the small shades of sign post waiting for the bus! Someone needs to take serious notice of this. Second issue is with the frequency of these buses. Not sure of the facts but going by my observation,I don't see many buses on the roads at any given point in time which makes me feel that buses are too far in between.

I'am in for any petition,sit-in, march etc.whatever required to make some difference.

Life is Beautiful...Indeed!

It is the transport system globally. Stop at stops, thats it.

Imagine if the man was 25 meters before the stop, then another 25 meters after the stop. There needs to be some consideration for people on the bus as well.

There needs to be more sun shelters, it is way to hot. I feel worse for the guys who have to work outside in this heat more than people waiting for a bus though.

If we can raise those concern to the management will be more than enough. Again this morning An Old Man wearing Disdasha waving about 25 meters away from Bus Stand and I really feel bad for him.
