Living in Doha for a single woman.
Hi, I'm a woman in my Mid-Twenties living in the UK and I've recently been offered a job at Al Jazeera English in Doha.
Obviously it's a big step and I was just wondering If people could let me know what it's like living in Qatar as a single woman. I've heard some negatives so am just trying to weigh all my options up!
Thank you.
Hiya let me know what you found as my sis is coming too. She is about 24 yrs old and also single.
This posting by wikitravel will help you get an overview. It's not very accurate but it will help.

And welcome to Neverland!
First impression... NOT GOOD
Anyway, few things I think everyone agrees is good about Qatar are
1) No Taxes
2) You get lots of quality time with the family
3) You get to buy the biggest and baddest car and still not have to worry about gasoline cos it costs next to nothing
4) No Taxes
5) Did I mention No Taxes?
@pwb, as mentioned, that case has no grounds.

I m not hitting on her.I ve seen the peoples expressions in the souq area during the mrngs when the western females walk with bare all sort of clothing.... So a male is there to give her some sort of moral support.....
I think Mir's already given zenoushka a taste of what she can expect in Qatar... :D
Might want to check out the latest - Al Jazeera English thread on here. Not too promising. Do a search.
