Looking to Rent Villa with Budget 10k

Jett
By Jett

Hello,

I'll be moving to Qatar in May and wanted to know if its possible to rent a villa (preferably with 3 bedrooms or more) for 10,000QR. The real estate websites in Qatar dont seem to display much information, in particular photos and prices. I'm not restricted to any specific location but would like to get the biggest place for my money. I cant seem to find much information on villas in Al-Wakra or the surrounding areas of Doha. Your help with this matter will be much appreciated. Best regards.

Just checked that website, i'm impressed. I have been to Qatar before, only for a few days. Distance isn't an issue, although i wouldn't mind a place towards the airport or Al Wakra. Anybody with a couple of days to spare fancy showing me around? I'm currently in Dubai and its only a short flight over so i'm considering spending a couple of days in Doha.

Jett - driving for 20 minutes probably wouldn't get you 100m.... on sunday it took me over an hour to travel 2kms... they only way you would be able to drive 20 minutes is if you had a villa round the corner from your work.

Have you visited Qatar before? If I were you, I would see if i could come out for a week or so to scope it out. My husband came here for a month before we moved to check location etc, and to see if we would like it.

Dear All,

I am also on the lookout for a reasonably priced villa in a compound. Can anybody provide a list of the Compund management companies where one could apply or put himself on a waiting list or sthg. Some phone numbers would be very helpful.

jett.. where you have to drive to?

it used to take me 15 minutes just to drive across the street with 1 intersection... If you need to drive from Wakra to let's say centre of Doha in the rush hours (which are most of the day), put 45 min up to 1 hour one way.. Sometimes it takes me upto 30 minutes to drive from Al Sadd to Cinema intersection, and only 3 traffic lights are on my way...

Thanks for the info. So it appears there are villa's available for that price but it means having to travel, which i am willing to do. I'm quite shocked at the high prices in doha, even in neighbouring dubai you can get a nice big villa for alot less than that. I'm sure it wont be long before prices do come down, the bubble will burst just like its doing all over the world.

Kaka, i'm interested in those apartments in Al-Wakra, even though above budget i'm sure some negotiation can be done....

Tubelight, do you have further details? I really have no issue driving 20 mins. I'm used to travelling one hour to work here in the uk.

Aninc, any more info on those 12k villas? Thanks for offering to help, i'll take you up on that when i arrive.

Alexa, hi and thank you.

Ezdan is the holding & management company. I heard lot of complains about the Tower here but didn't here any serious complain on the compound yet. They have their own maintainence and cleaning crew there so things get done faster. you can ever call the electrical guy to replace your burnt light bulbs and within 5-10 minutes the job will be completed.

I suggest to obtain a small apartment first. Then scope out which area that would be best for you. Do not commit to anything big right away. Do a short term rental for 6 months. During this time you will get a feel for he market which has seen prices drop and they will drop further. I truly believe by hook or by crook yes you can find a villa for 10,000 riyals.

You can rent a half decent villa (3-4 bedrooms) for that price. it might be a bit far (20 mins drive) from the city centre.

Why is it so expensive? I've rented luxury 2 bed apartments in central london for less than that. How are people able to afford such high prices? I think i need to change my profession. I thought 10k would be a resonable amount.

Are you being serious? 10k gets me a maids room next to a villa? I'm sure your just pulling my leg....

You are VERY optimistic if you think you will get a villa of ANY size for QR10,000. If you are very lucky you might find a 2 bedroomed apartment for that price.

As for the "real estate" websites - haha, they are a joke. Also be warned, stay away from sleazy extortionists who profess to be "agents". If you don't want to find yourself in a dire predicament later on try to get a contract directly with the landlord.

it depends on "villa".. in Al Fardan Gardens you can get only a maid house beside the villa for this amount..

but some 100-years old coop in Dukhan is more than possible...
