MEmap fr TomTom Vs buying sat nav in Qatar
By Prince Charles •
Hi everyone
I already have a Tom Tom sat nav in the UK, and am not sure if I should leave it in the UK and buy a new (Doha mapped) sat nav when I get to Qatar, or whether I should bring my Tom Tom along and purchase the Middle east map for it?
Is the ME map any good?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Hey johnsin
Fairly accurate, I've used it quite a bit.
Just be sure to update as the roads are everchanging

Hi Prince Charles, how have you found the Tom Tom accuracy in Qatar?
hi there,
following on from this thread, i thought you should know that TomTom has reduced its price for the ME map from £90 to £60.
Ive just downloaded and installed it onto my existing XL classic tom tom. Just make sure you devices have enough memory. the file was about 22megs
in addition to qatar it comes with maps for saudi, kuwait, bahrain, UAE and Oman
i figured that it was easier to buy here, rather than faffing around the malls trying to buy one there, plus id have the dilemma of purchasing a map for the uk if aquiring a satnav from qatar!
all the best

I am Also having the same dilemma. moving and wondering whether to bring navigation from here or to buy one from Qatar.
thanks a lot
@ netfragerin,
hey no probs.
FYI- been told that sat navs are readily availble at the likes of Carrefour etc for around 70euro- apparently Garmins are the preferred choice, but i'd rather have the one unit, which id bring back to the UK during holidays etc. Tom Tom maps are so damn expensive though
Happy sleuthing, PM me if you receive any concrete opinions, and vice versa
@Prince Charles
sorry for using your thread.. hope we get some suggestions.
Me too having the same dilemma. moving from EU to Qatar shortly and wondering whether to bring navigation from here or to buy one from Qatar.
thanks a lot
