New In Qatar

I am a new freshly graduate with a Masters Degree in Advertising and currently waiting for job offers.
I have my uncle in Qatar and he reassures me everytime that it will be easy for me.
However, I was hopping someone could shed some light on my questions; to help me get better acquainted in Qatar, if I strike oil. Lol.
I need answers to several questions concerning the accomodation, expenses and living in Qatar.
How does someone tend to spend in Qatar per month al in all?
Accomodation, what is best for lowest price?
Transportation, scond hand or new car; what is the best choice, what? how? whre? and how much?
In short how much could I expect to spend per month for a normal living, nothing too fancy? (cinemas, coffee, internet at home, rarely restaurants, cultural events). I like to cook at home and basically nothing pleases me more than a good book or a movie (DVD).
