Paul, you can transfer the money by your bank in Qatar to the bank in Joburg, you will need a SWIFT code from the bank in SA.

HSBC charges a QR 70 fee for the transfer, I have done it before.

Otherwise you can send cash from Western Union or any other bank (one in Al Mirqab, I can't remember the name, close to the Giant store on the RH of the road)You still need the SWIFT code.
