Hi folks, I have an upcomming interview for a job in Qatar. The post comes with free housing for me and my wife. The job is in IT with a well know gas company !!, any idea what salary level I should be asking for so that we can have a decent standard of living in Qatar ?.

Thanks in advance.

Atif thanks again for that. The interview is actually in Calgary Canada !!!, I am having to fly from Aberdeen in Scotland on the 23rd, 7 time zones for two days in Canada. I am desperate to come to Qatar, and will be doing my best to try and get the job. I think I would rather work in Qatar than Canada or the USA.

Common Clansman, its an awesome salary package and if you can ask them for high salary, then do try you luck.

Otherwise, very good package and i can assure you that RASGAS has very good SALARY PACKAGE in Qatar. They are huge company in all aspect. So, don't just think but grab that chance immediately.

If you perform well, they might transfer to UK,CANADA,USA or GOD knows where else.

Thanks for that, it is Ras that I would be working for. I think it is a grade 6 (not sure though). I have been offered a post in Tripoli (which has a cheaper cost of living than Qatar) with free housing etc and they were offering £3500 per month. The last thing I want to do is price myself out of a move or under sell myself !!!.

Depends on your Job grade...

If its Qatargas or Rasgas...they pay compettive salary...and you can always negotiate before accepting the offer..
