Wondering, Is Ramadan different in Dubai? Qatar has all restaurants closed in the afternoons. Geez u can't even find ice cream anywhere unless u go to a grocery store... and the malls, closing and working at a scheduled time...is it the same or different.
If u really want to eat ice cream or any thing go to one of the star hotels this is the first time they are open throught and serve in the restaurant every thing but hard drinks
If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.
The holy month of Ramadan is observed in all Islamic countries, some more than others. Dubai may be a little more liberal but you will not be able to eat ice cream in public there either, it is not considered respectful. Qatar is in many ways perhaps the most tolerant of the GCC countries and we have to respect their rules and customs as they respect ours. Eid is a great time to be here and has a really good atmosphere so hang in there. Remember that Ramadan is a time of sacrifice and restraint, not a bad thought for all of us in my opinion. jj
