Regarding Traffic Voilation Ticket?

It was a day before Eid, I was driving on the Al-Waab street which is coming from Al-Saad signal, when I was just before the signal on which there is a Qtel buiding, I was driving my car above 100km but slow down to 90km when I was passing the signal, I felt that the picture has been taken. I believe that there is no speed radar on that part of road.

I was surprised that I didn't break the signal and I was on the 90km speed then why my pic was taken?

Well today I checked my traffic violations against my car plate on www.qa.gov, there is ticket of QR500/- There is something written in the description in Arabic, I dont know why I was charged? Can I challenge it in anyway or somebody check it that what is written against my car plate number?

My car number is 370597

Well well! Thanks for all! I got the following new information:

1. There is no grace limit in over speeding.

2. Signal cameras are not just watching the signal breaking but over-speeding also.

3. Speed limit for crossing signals is 80km.

I these are all brand new information for most of us. This should be post on front page.

Thanks again for all.

Speed limit on that road is 80km/hr and u were driving at 90km/hr, a clear violation, so whats there in posting ur violation when u know u broke the law by overspeeding?

The speed limit

on Al Waab road is clearly marked as 80KM. So you were speeding and accordingly got a ticket since you were going 90KM. Good thing you slowed down as every 10km over the speed limit adds another 100QR to your fine.

Even though the speed limit of a road is shown 100 KM, I think, when you cross a signal , you should not do at 100 KM,,, you shoujld be slower at 80 km..... Means, the camera at the signal, not only identifies whether you jumped the red signal, but also whether you drove the green signal within the limit.

pls take care friends, I think, some friends have been charged like this. they thought they drive at green signal,,, but NEVER AT OVER SPEED

What is the question mook mafi? You state that you were speeding. Do you feel that since you slow down to just a little speeding at the radar you should not be fined?

Well, it's definitely a speeding ticket with that amount of fine. You can certainly contest it but I'm not sure about the percentage of success doing that.
