I haven't done much research yet but I believe that rental contracts are done typically for twelve months at a time, and that commits you to paying for the full twelve months, regardless how early into the contract you leave.

Is this fixed or is it possible to negotiate a different contract? Has anybody managed to do this? Is it generally easier to do after the initial twelve months?

Some can be negotiable...especially Ezdan...but beware, they are the worse.
