I have a 2-year contract but I wish to resign in good faith and go home or transfer elsewhere in GCC. Is it allowed and will I get any gratuity payments for this. My employer said I have to pay for the remaining 1 year in my contract, is this legal? Please help.

what does your contract state? does it state the clause of payment for balance term left in contract?

what does your company policies state? check these documents first. contractual terms can be tricky some times.
