Resignation Not accepted
Hi to all QL'ers,
I am here seeking for an advice for the situation i am currently stuck into.
I came to Doha and started wrking for a Co. in 2009 mid. Now i dont want to continue my job in Qatar and have already tendered my resignation to my employers with a notice of 1 mnth. But my employers have not accepted my resignation, nor they have given acknowledgement of reciept.
I need advise on whether should I send my resignation by mail as a proof that I have submitted my resignation or what course of action should be mine.. Is there any way out for me... I am desperately waiting for all u QL'ers advise..
Thanks
Thank u All..
As I said I spoke to my boss, but he is giving me reason that Qatari owners are not accepting it.
So what legal way out? Whom should I approach? Labour department or my country embassy..
And should I wait till I serve my notice period before approaching any of them.
They cannot HOLD your resignation. Qatar labor law states that both parties (employer or employee) can terminate the contract.
They cannot refuse your resignation. You ae not a slave. If you resign they must send you home
Not sure about your company and your boss and the laws but my understanding they do not require to give you an acknowledgement or receipt
==> did you speak to your boss, did he tell you he is not going to accept your resignation..
==> seek legal help and inform your embassy
==> your boss has no opinion and your HR is refusing to talk to you (did you try) same as above
you can ask for a final settlement calculation so you know they are doing their job.
anyway they can not refuse a resignation.
NO WAY
even if you break a contract (in this case you need to pay something but still they can not refuse) so ask for final settlement calculation in advance dont get surprised on your last day and no time to seek help
any trouble go immediately to seep professional help and inform your Embassy
