Shipping stuff to Australia

I want to ship boxes of books and personal effects to Sydney; not big items of furniture. I want to ship it because it is cheaper and also I won't be back in Sydney to collect it for about 6 weeks after I have shipped it.

Does anyone have any suggestions (eg about shipping companies) for this?

try Crown Worldwide, they have offices here in Qatar and in OZ, and are an international company. A quick google search and you'll find the contact details.

I'd put it here but not sure of the forum rules etc.

Agree with Di watch out if there is not office in OZ. I have had a good run with Inchcape moving about the world. Office here in Qatar as well as Oz.

We shipped items to Oz and would warn against using any company that does NOT have an office at destination. Many shipping companies here in will offer good rates BUT most of them don't have offices in OZ and use outside agents for the local customs clearance and delivery, this is where the trouble begins. You pay the shipping company here the quoted price thinking that you have paid door to door inclusive and then the local agent in Oz will want all kinds of additional charges to clear and deliver your goods. My advice is only use a company that has its own company office at the place of destination and make sure the price is all inclusive.
