Hi all. I'm a Malaysian will be working soon in Qatar. I'm currently offered QR17k. But its not include for accommodation and travel. Will it be worth for me to take up this job? I'm so indecisive but I have a family here. My first job here and I was excited. What can I request from them???

Hi rizalazhar. Terimakasih utk your reply. memang boss saya kata anak dia tak sponsor tapi there is a way to get this done and the co will help give whatever leter I need utk prepare for this. I plan nak bawak ibu dan anak saya. tapi first 6 months I have to be here alone. tadi I baru email boss saya kata tak mau dia kata co dah amik visa. maksudnya I terpaksa amik dan kerja ke? saya rasa sangat keliru sekarang. kalo international sekolah boleh saya tau berapa agaknya it will be? sebab boss saya kata dalam 2.7-3k per semester. betul ke?

Shrdi, you ada tanya tak pasal sponsoring family? Untuk anak you tinggal di Qatar, dia mesti ada visa Family.

You punya visa is working visa, sponsor you is your company. Tapi setakat apa yang saya experience is that, Gomen susah nak keluarkan family visa for ladies yang nak sponsor anak. Melainkan company tu betul2 leh justify needs.

Tempoh sah laku Visa on Arrival ialah sebulan, tetapi, boleh pergi ke imigresen untuk apply sebulan lagi. Max 2 bulan sahaja. Kalau you tak dapat sponsor anak you, maknanyer setiap 2 bulan you kena bawak ur kid keluar qatar (normally ke Dubai) stay weekend, then masuk balik qatar menggunakan Visa on Arrival.

Dan sekiranya tiada family visa untuk anak, dia takkan boleh bersekolah di qatar. Playschool/ private kindergarden max umur is 4 yrs sahaja, lebih dari itu, kena masuk International School (Kindergarden).

So setakat nie, gaji yang dioffer mmg mencukupi utk you n you child.

Kalau you nak turn down that offer, I would say, better you ambik, and datang dulu ke Qatar 1-2 bulan sendiri, ambik feel dulu. Takkan tak boleh tinggalkan anak ngan family members sebentar?

Atau pun, you boleh belikan tiket flight and ask one of your family member boleh datang Qatar and jaga your child sementara you familiarize yourself dgn tempat nie.

Salam Shrdi, setahu saya if you tak report for duty and belum sign labor contract maksudnyer u masih consider ready to employ for the company not bound by Qatar law yet. Blacklisting tu I x pasti ler sebab sini banyak lagi company construction and consultant. sekolah kat sini international Cambridge syllabus.

2 BHK (Bedroom, Hall, Kitchen - Fully Furnish) : QR 5k/ month

Sewa kereta or teksi : 2k/ month.

Sekolah anak : Anak umur 5 tahun ... 14-20k/ year or maybe more - lump sum payment yer. Groceries, makan n minum : 2k/ month

Utilities(api, air, phone etc) : 2k/ month

Please tanya your company, education anak macam mana?

And kasi tau yg you plan nak bawak anak.

Sebab selalu nyer, a single lady sponsored by a company, takkan dapat benefits/ elaun family.

You kena faham, mmg akan ada double standard antara pekerja lelaki dan perempuan.

Depa expect, orang lelaki yang akan tanggung family, dan bukan pekerja perempuan.

I would advice, kalau betul2 you nak datang juga, datang solo dulu 2-3 bulan.

Ambik feel dulu tempat nie.

Jangan pulak kalau kat Msia kita boleh makan nasi tapi kat Qatar terpaksa makan biskut, udah la.

Anyway, hope for the best.

sorry, shrdi1, for family is not enough, if you are bringing your daughter as well as your husband, you can't get rent less than 3k in Qatar for a house, memang susah, itu lah dugaan nyer hidup disini rent is too high, for 3k hanya dapat sewa bilik ajer, too bad itu lah reality nya, if u are willing to stay as single bawak anak sekali sekala okay lah, kalau nak bawak family its a no no..

If accommodation provided by the company, its okay, make sure family friendly lah, about anak tu I x beberapa pasti, need to check with the MOI Qatar, upon arrival sini there will issue temporary working visa for us then visitor visa for others.

Iqash, i'll try to nego with the HR about ape yang dibicarakan. I harap dia akan naikan tapi kalo tidak pun I akan dalam masalah sebab Project director sudah suka my cv and dah confirm saya...so saya dalam keadaaan runsing sekarang. saya akan mintak allowance fr meal and accommodation. kalo nak bawa anak mesti tunggu 6 bulan baru boleh bawa ke? if family status terus boleh bawa kan?

shrdi, area Al Khor ramai orang Msian yang kerja di Qatar Gas, in fact, di panggil kampong msia, so you won't be alone there, by the way al khor is very much cheaper than Doha, sebab jauh dalam 45 minutes drive kalau siput sedut driving,

Cuba search Malaysian in Qatar closed group but once dah approved boleh post question kat sana,

Healthcare kat sini memang mahal, but kalau company cover then its okay, education is expensive too, that why renego back the package at least 25k sound feasible.

First of all, do you plan to bring your family here with you, most likely yes, than the offer is just ok. You will save a bit. Housing rent is the most expensive in GCC for Qatar, if you are looking for a decent living for a two bedroom in a compound, you are looking around QR5,500 to 7,500 within Doha City. You will need a car, so most likely, you will rent one, budget for QR 2,000 for renting a small car + petrol. Food and miscellaneous spending may take up QR 4,000 to 5,000 upwards for your family (depending on the size). Two mobile phone service with 1 GB Data + Mosaic (Internet for home use + digital TV) with Asia International Channels will run you about QR700. All this is monthly. With all this in mind, you might be able to save a little. The thing is, are you better off than living in Malaysia or being here and saving a little. BTW, I forgot schools or nursery (depending on the age of your kids), it is expensive in Qatar. If you factor that in, then you might not even save!

See Classifieds for info and budget on what to expect on accomodation.

When you say travelling, I'm assuming flight ticket going back to Msia, as of date Sri Lanka Air is the cheapest.

Check with your company, why was the reason they do not provide accom and travel? Also check number of days for annual leave, and also an "End of Service Benefits"--- like EPF la. Normally, 1 month basic salary for each number of years in service.
