signal while entering the roundabout-- confusion please clear
I am used to drive in roundabout as my city roads back home are full of roundabouts. There when you are entering the roundabouts you a have to give left signal (even if you want to go straight) and when exiting give the right signal.I ask my instructor about it and he said yes while entering the roundabout always give left signal except when turning right.
Its me and my instructor who agree with it that except right turn you should always give left signal on roundabouts ;others (and even my friend instructor says) when you have to go straight after negotiating the roundabout dont give any signal while entering and only indicate during exit .
Can any body clear my doubts as I am not sure .
When going left - signal left when entering roundabout then signal right upon exit.
when going straight - enter the roundabout with no signal then upon exit, signal right.
when going right - signal right when entering the round about and upon exit.
Really, no wonder the driving is so bad when the driving "instructors" dish out such bad advice. Turning right, right hand lane, indicate right;going straight on,preferably take the inside(near kerb)lane or you can take thee outside lane, no indicator until you are at the exit before the one you intend to take, then indicate right; going left, use outside lane (left hand lane) indicate left until you are at are at the exit before the one you intend to take, then indicate right.
And please, do not stay in the midddle lane - its the most dangesus and you may get crushed.
And if any of our friends from the Indian subcontinent are reading this, please don't hog the middle lane at 40kph! KEEP RIGHT unless overtaking!
Giving a left signal when going straight ahead is wrong. You only need to give a right signal half way round the roundabout to tell other road users you are going to exit the roundabout.
Giving a left signal when you have no intention of turning left confuses others and only increases the already dangerous activity known as driving in Qatar.
The worst offenders are lorry drivers and buses.
Indeed 95% of people driving here should not be - and that includes the locals.
Dear back home in your country you drive right handed and here it is left handed drive so you have to do opposite side what ever you used to do back home

My point of veiw is, if you want to go strait, before entering the R/A give left signal and gradually when you enter 4-5 mtrs in R/A give right signal but always try and stay in middle lane. Thanks
