Skinny jeans in Qatar(responses from women)

EmmaS
By EmmaS

I'm moving to Doha soon and just wondering what stuff to bring with me and what to leave behind. As far as clothes, I'm a western woman and practically live in jeans.

Can you wear skinny jeans in Qatar (is it too hot/is it culturally inappropriate?)

Does it ever get cold enough to wear hoodies, wool, boots etc.

I'm used to temperatures ranging from 10 to 30 degrees Celsius, with the occasional 5 degrees or less (but I'd consider that freezing!)

Whats the coldest it gets during winter?

And can I wear my skinny jeans or do I need to look for some baggy ones???

Cheers

As goes for Emma...

Asking males to stay away?

It seems logic you will establish the opposite by requesting.

If "eternal adolescent" would be in the dictionary and had an image - it would be:

Alexa,

you do not have the spell-check?

Sorry I wrote in "girl code" deliberately as a kind of screening process for my replies :0)

I'm guessing "can I wear really tight jeans in qatar (responses from men)" might have lead to some less helpful responses.

In Qatar you can NOT go to bars or pubs with a skirt that comes above you knees. The rules state NOTHING about topless, or proper cleavage.

Welcome to Qatar!

I appreciate decent clothes. A long tunic over jeans seems very appropriate and courteous

But I guess I didn't think I'd get away with this post without at least one dodgy friend request. Seems like the Y chromosome functions the same the world over.

Cheers for the answers GIRLS, looks like another pair of skinny jeans comes to Qatar!

You can leave any heavy wool coats behind.

It gets cool here in "the winter" and layering is really your best option. You will probably buy a pashmina scarf/wrap and this can help keep you warm in the "winter."

It is hotter than hell here now and it will get even more uncomfortable in August!!!! Despite the heat outside, most buildings keep their A/Cs running full blast and it gets a little chilly in the malls/restaurants.

Bring your light sweaters. You can use them year 'round.

Ya don't go the skinny jeans with boob tubes and 3 inch stillettos. Wear them with 5 inch heels and nipple tassles!! Nah I'm just kidding.

I thought deserts get hot during the day, but can get freezing at night times? Or does the fact that Qatar is surrounded by ocean have a moderating affect on the day/night temperatures?

Please feel free to bring your skinny jeans! But you may not want to wear them with a "boob-tube" and 3 inch stilettos. I might suggest pairing them with a tunic top. And do bring your hoodies and some wool. February can get mighty chilly particularly since the houses have no heat.
